The following is the transcript of the speech:
Dear Deputy Director Wang Jiangping, Deputy Director Zhang Qiong, distinguished leaders, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:
Good morning everyone!
2016The China Competition Policy Forum has grandly opened. On behalf of the w88 casino, I welcome everyone’s presence and guidance, and I would like to express my congratulations on the smooth convening of this conference and forum.
Held today2016The China Competition Policy Forum is the third time that our Competition Law Center at the w88 casino has hosted this special forum. The w88 casino is an internationally renowned university affiliated with the Ministry of Education. Our Competition Law Center is to respond to the needs of the formulation and implementation of my country’s Anti-Monopoly Law, promote competition law and policy research, and strengthen and foreign affairs Since its establishment, the center, under the leadership of Professor Huang Yong, has held many international forums, lecture series and consulting services with the goal of promoting and leading competition law research in China. It has built a good academic research platform, carried out many cutting-edge research, cultivated a large number of talents in competition law, and has done a lot to serve the country and society.
Everyone knows that in supply-side reform, the market must determine the allocation of resources. This has basically reached a consensus. However, there are still many practical issues that need to be continuously discussed in terms of how to implement it, how to optimize the efficiency of resource allocation in accordance with market rules, market standards, market prices, and especially relying on market competition.
The theme of this forum - the implementation of competition policy in supply-side structural reform is very closely integrated with the current economic situation and policies. It also directly responds to some key issues in the current reform of China's economic system. It reflects the forum's consistent governance awareness and problem orientation, and also reflects the academic stance of the Competition Law Center of the w88 casino that insists on conducting policy research based on the national level and strategic perspective. But we also know that doing this work well requires our academic community, especially the legal and economic communities, to carry out in-depth research and discussion. This forum is particularly looking forward to hearing the insights of experts and scholars.
Here, I once again wish this forum a complete success, thank you all!
