Xinhua News Agency Beijing4month23Nippon (Reporter Li Jiangtao) Relevant Experts23Japan said that Chinese enterprises urgently need language services to "go global", but currently language services face three major problems.
w88 casino of English and Institute of International Language Services and Management, w88 casino23The "Blue Book on Language Services for Chinese Enterprises "Going Global"" was released in Beijing on the same day.
Wang Lifei, person in charge of the Blue Book and dean of the w88 casino of English at the w88 casinosaid that the primary issue for Chinese enterprises to "go global" is to communicate with users of different languages and cultures, and to market products and services in the language of local users. Some industries and enterprises in our country have suffered huge economic losses in cross-cultural exchanges and foreign w88 because they do not pay attention to language services. They have not only lost their international market share, but also damaged their corporate image and brand.
Wang Lifei said that their research team’s survey in the past year shows that Chinese companies currently face three main problems in language services when “going global”:
Firstly, most enterprises need to outsource language services, and the current domestic language service market is uneven. Since there is no authoritative certification and objective standards, enterprises are highly random when selecting language service providers, resulting in high trial and error costs.
Second, companies generally do not have personnel specifically responsible for translation services. These personnel need to understand both the language of the target country and the professional skills. Most companies temporarily assign people who have learned foreign languages to take charge of translation services, lacking continuity and professionalism. Judging from foreign experience, most companies have set up independent departments or specialized personnel to be responsible for translation services.
Third, many companies do not pay enough attention to translation and localization services. Since there is no budget for language services, once language services are needed, time and cost are tight, and good results cannot be obtained, which has a negative impact on the company's "going out".
According to Wang Lifei, there are currently more than 100 colleges and universities offering master’s degrees in translation across the country200There may seem to be a lot of talents, but the talents that truly meet the needs of enterprises are not surplus, but far from enough.
"Language service is a market behavior, but it faces difficulties such as low industry entry barriers and no objective standard certification. It is also an area that requires policy guidance and measures to encourage. Management and decision-making departments should formulate policies and measures to strengthen language services to promote Chinese enterprises to move toward the international market quickly, efficiently, and steadily." Wang Lifei said.
