For a long time, people have used their endless wisdom and power to solve the problems that nature has left us. I am deeply impressed by them.
Into Jingyuan

After the car left the highway and walked along the Yellow River, we were getting closer and closer to our destination, Jingyuan County. Due to the long journey, it was almost dusk when we arrived at our destination. Teachers from the local Education Bureau, Youth League County Committee, and several middle schools had already prepared local specialties for us. During this period, the teachers affirmed the volunteer service work of our w88 casino volunteers in the Jingyuan area over the years and expressed a warm welcome to our arrival. The words made our four new volunteers excited and determined to pass on and carry forward this "volunteer service spirit". While talking, we also learned that Jingyuan County is one of the most fertile places in Gansu Province. The superior geographical conditions make it one of the fruit and vegetable bases in Gansu. As volunteers, we feel very lucky.
There were four of us. I and another female classmate (who I later called "Teacher Zhang") were arranged to live in a bedroom converted from an office in the experimental building of Jingyuan No. 4 Middle w88 casino. When we first arrived in Jingyuan, the schools in the county had not yet started w88 casino. However, although the climate here is comfortable and the pace of life is comfortable, for me, who grew up in a northern coastal city, I had to face acclimatization when I first arrived here. Problems such as skin allergies, hair loss, indigestion, and lack of Qi and blood frequently appeared. However, with the help and support of my friends, I spent nearly two months, "painful and happy", overcoming various adverse reactions in my body.
Become a teacher
The four of us in the team spent nearly half a month getting familiar with life in Jingyuan. Then it was time for the start of w88 casino in various middle schools in the county. This was also the time when our teaching career officially began.

As soon as I settled down in Chengguan Middle w88 casino, I received my teaching assignment for one year, teaching English to a seventh-grade class. When I first received this task, I was secretly happy but a little nervous. I was happy because I had learned English for more than ten years, and the basics of English were self-evident. I was nervous because I taught myself before, but now I have to stand on the podium and impart knowledge to my classmates. My teaching methods and experience can be described as "poor and nothing". Speaking of this, I really need to pay special attention to the help given to me by many teachers in the English teaching and research group. At the beginning of the w88 casino year, they enthusiastically invited me to attend classes in their classes and told me the characteristics of students of this age group, the characteristics of junior middle w88 casino English teaching, and the corresponding teaching methods. Throughout the teaching process, I got along very well with the children, which made me very happy.
But as I get to know these children more deeply, I find more and more the real challenge of teachers’ work. There were also some students with particularly low scores who told me that they had really learned English, but they just couldn’t learn it. There were many similar situations. After every conversation like this, I felt that I was really not a qualified teacher because I knew so little about my students. After that, I finally understood the principle of "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude." For students with a good foundation, I try to help them continuously improve themselves, share with them the methods of learning English, recommend books to them, and try to win as many opportunities as possible to participate in various competitions; for students with a good foundation but not enough concentration in class, I share my learning experience with them, encourage them to continue to improve, and provide them with as many opportunities to show in class as possible; and for the few students in the class who have a particularly weak foundation, I call them to the teaching and research office and teach them the most basic letters and vocabulary. Many times, I actually know that I may gain very little by doing this, but I still try my best to help them in every possible way. Their little progress is a great comfort to me.

During this process, I also hated that iron cannot become steel. I wanted to pick up a stick and ask those children "why they can't learn" several times, but I didn't. Because I know that people are born different, and not all children are suitable for studying and taking exams100Points. But every child must have his or her own strengths. How many times have I been moved to tears by the simplicity of the children. Maybe the teacher scolded him one second, but the next second he would smile naively at the teacher, or raise his hand as high as possible when the teacher needed help. I particularly remember one time when I took a week off to go back to Beijing to deal with important matters. When I came back, I was carrying my luggage and passing by the playground. The children in our class were playing on the playground. They suddenly rushed over and even pushed other students to the ground in order to help me carry the suitcase. They were like a ball of fire, rushing toward me. I didn't even have the chance to criticize them, because my heart had completely melted at that moment. They say, “A child is just a blank sheet of paper.” This is true.
I know that many students here have poor family conditions, and learning English itself is a difficult thing for them. So, standing on the podium, I kept thinking about what I should tell the children as a teacher. Little by little, the answer to this question became clear in my mind.
If possible, I hope to give the children a hope, telling them that through their own efforts, one day, you will walk out of the loess under your feet like me, see the wonderful world better than me, and change the whole world better than anyone else; if possible, I hope to give the children a principle, that is, to always be an honest and kind person, which is the most precious wealth in life; if possible, I hope to teach the children to form their own learning methods and teach them. It is better to teach children to fish than to teach them to fish. Good learning methods will make children get twice the result with half the effort on their way to w88 casino. If possible, I hope to teach the children to speak a little English. I still remember, when I was eighteen years old, I shouted to the sky, "I finally grew up!" Now that I think about it, I was so naive and naive. I think my true “adulthood” began in Jingyuan. The so-called "support education life", before I came to Jingyuan, I thought "support education" would be the whole life here. After I came here, I discovered that the word "life" is also an indispensable part of life here.
Leaving family and Beijing also leaves behind the warm dining table at home and the prosperous cafeteria at w88 casino. “Eating” has become the number one issue in our lives here. Jingjing is far inferior to big cities. There are fast food restaurants and small restaurants everywhere. In addition, by suddenly moving from the place where we originally lived to a completely unfamiliar place, we are far away from our close family and familiar friends. Although the volunteer teaching life makes us busy and fulfilling, loneliness will still cause trouble from time to time. This kind of life away from home has made the four friends of our teaching group become best friends. The weekly dinner party has become the best expectation of our weekly life. We sit together, drink and eat meat, talk happily, share endless happiness and difficult sorrows. We no longer live alone, and Jingyuan is no longer a stranger.
Time flies, we are painful and happy, simple and profound, longing and nostalgic, and have gone through the life of volunteer teaching. Words, photos, and videos are not enough to record our gains and growth here. I can only be silently grateful and happy for the choice I made.
