The theme of this competition isNuclear Power: Blessing or Disaster to Humankind? (Nuclear energy:Good news or disaster for mankind?) , the competition consists of four parts: fixed-topic speech, judges’ questions, impromptu speech, and judges’ questions. The title of the final speech is“My Green Living in the Nuclear Age”. The contestants quoted from classics and quotes, from the scientific development and application of new energy to environmentally friendly and low-carbon life, from Steve Jobs, Gaddafi toG20A variety of hot-button arguments were readily available and used with ease. They were either humorous or impassioned. Their wonderful speeches often attracted warm applause from the audience.

This competition provides a good opportunity to deepen the reform of college English teaching in various universities in Beijing and promote exchanges and cooperation among English teaching in various universities in Beijing.
