The great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics has achieved brilliant achievements that have attracted worldwide attention. At present, the world is becoming multi-polar and economic globalization is developing in depth, and our country's industrialization, informatization, urbanization, marketization, and internationalization are rapidly advancing. Our country is still in an important period of strategic opportunities where we can make great achievements. At the same time, the problems of unbalanced, uncoordinated, and unsustainable development in our country are quite prominent, and the mode of economic development has not yet undergone fundamental changes. Under this circumstance, well-known experts and scholars from all over the country gathered in Huiyuan to conduct in-depth discussions on the theme of scientific development of China's economy under the conditions of economic globalization, which is of great theoretical and practical significance.
China Economic Law Research Association was recently established30In the past few years, it has had a broad and important influence in the academic world at home and abroad, and has played a significant role in promoting my country's economic theory research and reform and development. As a veteran comrade on the economic theory front, I put forward three hopes.
1. Uphold and develop Marxist economic theory and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. General Secretary Hu Jintao "Celebrating the Founding of the Communist Party of China90Speech at the Annual General Meeting" emphasized that: "Chinese Communists firmly believe that the basic principles of Marxism are unbreakable scientific truths, and firmly believe that Marxism must be continuously enriched and developed with the development of practice." Since the reform and opening up, we have adhered to the ideological line of emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, and advancing with the times, constantly eliminating the interference of wrong tendencies, enriching and developing Marxist economic theory in practice, and forming a theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. I hope that comrades will better combine persistence and development, be good at learning from and absorbing all beneficial achievements of human civilization, deeply explore the laws of China's economic development, actively promote theoretical innovation based on practice, and make new contributions to the treasure house of Marxist economic theory and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
2. Closely focus on the theme of scientific development of China’s economy, conduct in-depth research, make suggestions and suggestions, and further play the important role of economic theory workers. At present, our country's reform and development have entered a new stage of development, and we are facing new situations and new problems. Institutional and mechanistic obstacles that restrict the scientific development of our country's economy still exist, the "dilemmas" in transforming the economic development model have increased significantly, and the contradictions and pressures in the adjustment of the interest pattern have continued to increase. I hope that comrades will focus on the strategic needs of the party and the country, closely follow the theme of scientific development of my country's economy, further carry out in-depth research that is targeted, scientific, overall, and forward-looking, and better provide policy suggestions, theoretical basis, doubt-clearing and consulting services, and make new contributions to promoting the sound and rapid development of our country's economy.
3. Continuously strengthen the academic style and team building of the society, and cultivate high-quality economic theory talents who meet the needs of socialist modernization. China Economic Law Research Association is a high-level academic platform. It is hoped that comrades will use this academic platform to unite and bring together more colleagues in economics, promote the excellent academic style of integrating theory with practice, be rigorous in scholarship, be brave in innovation, strengthen academic self-discipline, and abide by academic integrity. More economic theorists and young and middle-aged academic leaders who are politically firm, knowledgeable in Chinese and Western studies, broad-minded, and widely influential will emerge to promote the prosperity of the theoretical cause of the party and the country and pass on the torch from generation to generation.
