As an undergraduate, he began to try to help Chinese and foreign companies connect and apply the international w88 knowledge learned in the classroom to real business scenarios. During his master's degree, he and his team officially registered a Chinese and foreign business consulting company in Malaysia and embarked on the road of entrepreneurship.

When it started, the team had only 4 people, no funds, no manpower, and no mature system. They started from scratch, went among the international students to recruit members one by one, and explored the management model while organizing activities. The International College also provides critical support and helps with student activities.

One year later, the membership of the International Alumni Association has grown from 4 to 110. It has successfully organized more than 80 activities, covering cultural exchanges, career sharing, sports events, etc., and has become an important platform for exchanges and mutual assistance among international students in China. Cai Hongsen was also awarded the title of “Outstanding Student Leader” in 2023.

Be a “bridge builder” for international students

While working in the alumni association, Cai Hongsen observed a common phenomenon: many international students coming to China are confused about their development after graduation, lack understanding of Chinese industry opportunities and trends, and there is an obvious information gap. This prompted him to think: Can a platform be built to help them develop?

After that, he participated in launching a doctoral student community project of the International Alumni Talent Alliance. With the support of relevant departments, he leads a team to provide a series of services from entrepreneurial guidance to project incubation to foreign youth in Beijing, invites industry mentors to share development trends, organizes overseas students to visit Chinese companies for on-site visits, and connects resources to support the implementation of high-quality entrepreneurial projects.

“What we want to do is to help international students coming to China see more possibilities.” Cai Hongsen said. He knows that this matter cannot be accomplished overnight, but as the experience of rebuilding the alumni association has proved: as long as you are willing to work hard, many seemingly impossible things will eventually turn around.
