A decision: Standing at a new starting point
Li Fei’s job search process includes an internship at a law firm—Autumn recruitment—three stages for civil servants. Initially, because of his combined "finance + law" background, he was inclined to become a capital markets lawyer. In October 2022, he had already received an offer from a boutique firm through internship retention. However, due to the heavy psychological burden at the time and confusion about his future work, he regrettably gave up the retention. After that, I started to participate in the autumn recruitment, and began to prepare for the public examination intermittently. After the first draft of the thesis was finalized in January, I began to formally prepare for the public examination. Finally, I took the Beijing and provincial examinations, and finally decided to stay in the Beijing grassroots court and start a new career as a judge assistant.
Regarding job hunting, I would like to share with my fellow students: First, there is no perfect job, and you will eventually give it up. Whether it is a law firm, legal affairs, or civil servant, each job will have its own strengths and weaknesses.
