This is my last day in Xinjiang. I sent away the last box of luggage and said goodbye to my roommates who left earlier. At seven o'clock in the afternoon when the summer heat in Xinjiang was particularly hot, I sat in a familiar dormitory and recalled my experience of teaching for a year. Every little thing, they are small things. They pile up but are too heavy to write down. This year, I have witnessed the growth of the children, and I have deeply felt my own changes.
I am Huang Xueli, a 2019 graduate of the w88 casino of English at the w88 casino, and a member of the 21st graduate student teaching group of the w88 casino. I serve at the Wujiaqu No. 3 Primary w88 casino of the Sixth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps as an English teacher for two classes of sixth grade and a moral and legal teacher for one class of fourth grade.
Forever like the first time we met
In the first class, I introduced myself to everyone and said: "Nice to meet you, nice to meet you!" I thought it was funny at the time, but later I thought about it and was a little sad. Although we didn't know each other from scratch, it would be a good thing if we could still have the curiosity and enthusiasm of the first meeting.
Speaking of which, my first class did not go well. At that time, I taught everyone to introduce themselves in English, not only to get the children to speak English, but also to test the English level of the whole class. As a result, only a few students could complete it fluently. Many students did not even know what "I" meant. On the first day, 13 students did not turn in their homework. In conversations with other teachers, I learned that many students only study English in the classroom. Their parents are busy with their livelihoods and have no skills and motivation. Many students have self-certified themselves as "scumbag students" and lack the fighting spirit to learn. Faced with these situations, I was actually powerless at first. As a young teacher, my classmates didn't seem to be too afraid of me. Most of them respectfully promised in front of me that they would not do it again, but they still did the same thing the next day.
I just deal with the students who don’t hand in their homework every day, sometimes getting angry and sometimes feeling helpless. But surprisingly, with the help and guidance of the head teacher and office teacher, I slowly figured out how to deal with it. The first is that "words must be true and deeds must be resolute." For students who do not listen carefully to lectures, do not hand in homework, and do not correct corrections, if punishment is formulated, then it must be implemented. Before, I also learned from other teachers who said harshly, "If you don't hand in your homework, you will bear the consequences yourself." In the end, there were no "consequences." The students also probably saw that the teacher was just a "paper tiger" and gradually began to pay less attention to English. Later, I learned from the experience and made an iron rule: "Students who have not completed their homework and dictation must complete it that day before going home." After informing the parents, I accompanied the students in dictation and correction after w88 casino for more than 10 consecutive days. The effect was immediate. English teaching
The second is to teach students in accordance with their aptitude and give sufficient attention to different students. In the process of slowly getting to know everyone, I found that the problem with many students learning English is that they cannot recognize and read words, which leads to ineffective copying and lack of interest in learning. So I taught these students how to recognize words step by step, and also gave these students slightly simpler homework to reduce their English learning burden.
The last thing is to be patient. Teaching is not about how good you are, but about how well you understand your students and slowly get along with them. Although it is difficult to tell others about my anger and sadness, many of the sweetness and beauty they gave me will give me the courage to treat them with the purest enthusiasm again, as if everyone was the children I met on the first day, enthusiastically welcoming the new English teacher.
It’s a worthwhile trip
I also hope that the English class can be taught a little differently. There is a unit in the second volume of the sixth grade about travel, talking about various scenic spots in Beijing. I showed my classmates some of the Beijing scenery I took, and played the 2022 Beijing Olympic bid themed promotional video "The journey is the reward". A classmate asked me what the title meant. I said "It's a worthwhile trip" and then asked the students to discuss something that can make you exclaim "It's a worthwhile trip"Life experience. Moving this question to the present, as far as I am concerned, it may be this trip to Xinjiang to support education.

In the second half of the year, due to the campus epidemic prevention and control arrangements, I was assigned to Class 6 (2) as the deputy director. I stayed in the classroom every day and got along with everyone day and night. Different from getting along with each other in English class, everyone is more lively and more difficult to control at this time. Although they have to help the pregnant class teacher deal with various disputes at all times, they also have the opportunity to get to know the children in depth.
After class, some classmates would come up to me and ask me about English words I didn’t know, how to translate some beautiful sentences in English, whether I played games, what songs I liked to listen to, and they would also talk to me about the little frictions I had with my parents and the little troubles I had in adolescence. I also took the opportunity to share my mental journey at that age with my classmates, trying to enlighten and comfort everyone's many worries and worries in their early youth. Some classmates would also say to me: "Teacher, please drink less coffee. My mother said coffee is bad for your health." Or they would come over to me and ask: "Teacher, do you need to get some water?" Sometimes after correcting my homework, I would sit in the back of the classroom and read quietly. Many classmates would come over and share their book lists with me. He also asked me what good books I had. When I graduated, a classmate gave me a bookmark and said, "Teacher, I see that you read a lot, so I wanted to buy a bookmark for you." Every word of concern made me feel warmer, and added many unexpected surprises to my ordinary life.
Bright future
In the last class, I prepared postcards for everyone to write blessings to their good friends. I wrote on the blackboard, "May you have a bright future!" and told everyone that this sentence translates to "a bright future." It is what you can say to yourself, what you can say to your friends, and what I want to say to everyone. To my surprise, many classmates also wrote me postcards, wishing me all the best in Beijing and a bright future, and hoping to have the opportunity to meet me in Beijing in the future.
Graduation blessings from students
In fact, what I want to say to you is far more than "a bright future". I have different advice for each student. For studious students, I hope you can always maintain your current enthusiasm; for careless students, I hope you will slowly get rid of your bad habits after entering middle w88 casino, and become serious and careful; for naughty students, I hope you will not lose yourself in adolescence; for sensitive students, I hope you can stay true to yourself and have more confidence in your future life.
