My name is Naxiao. I am a 2019 graduate of the w88 casino of Finance at the w88 casino. I am also a member of the Gansu branch of the 21st graduate student teaching group of the w88 casino. From holding a microphone on the stage to putting on a loudspeaker and stepping onto the podium, I thought it was not difficult at first. It is easier to let forty people listen to my words than to let four hundred people listen. But later I discovered that a teacher needs a lot of skills to teach well, and also needs to repeatedly polish his teaching design. And standing on the podium well is more than just giving a good lecture. Due to my lack of experience, I often ask my mother, who has nearly thirty years of teaching experience, for advice. At the same time, I will also ask students to provide feedback on the classroom situation in order to adjust the teaching methods. After continuous efforts, my first open class was praised by all teachers in the teaching and research group and w88 casino leaders.
I have always attached great importance to cultivating students' study habits. The first step is to take notes. Students are required to fold out a mark on the right third of each page, write down the content of the lesson on the left, and write down the knowledge points supplemented during exercises and review on the right, so that each section of knowledge has a hierarchy and structure. When I talked about key knowledge at the beginning, I would stop and urge students to take notes. Gradually, students formed a habit and were able to take the initiative to record knowledge. Secondly, I also require each student to prepare a correction book, record the wrong questions in homework and tests, and write down the analysis of the causes of the errors. This is very important for science learning. Wrong questions are valuable wealth accumulated in the learning process.
In order to keep abreast of students' mastery of knowledge, I design a set of test questions after each chapter. Each small test is divided into two sets of papers A and B to ensure the authenticity of the results. Summarize the questions with a high error rate in the quiz so that you can focus on them in the subsequent review. I will also record each student’s quiz scores, conduct dynamic analysis of the scores, and provide timely feedback to parents. My "Three Flavors" Teaching with "Underachievers"
Because the mathematics foundation of the two classes I teach is relatively weak, it is naturally more difficult to learn physics. Therefore, I often come up with some "interesting" methods to stimulate students' interest in learning and lay a solid foundation at the same time.
Learning should be accompanied by "deliciousness". As the saying goes, "If you want to catch a person's heart, you must first catch his stomach." So, I linked everything with snacks - if you do well in the quiz, you will be rewarded with snacks; if you have made progress in your studies recently, you will be rewarded with snacks; if you raise your hand to answer questions in class, you will be rewarded with snacks; if you take the initiative to ask questions in the office, you will be rewarded with snacks. Since many of the students I teach come from families with financial difficulties, and some parents go out to work all year round, they have had low self-esteem since childhood and do not like to talk to others or express themselves. The "Snack Incentive Method" inspired them to express their wishes and cultivated their learning initiative.
The classroom needs more "fun". The traditional final review method always makes students feel boring and tired, but I like to use some novel and effective methods: list the knowledge outline and memorize it one by one, and reward the one who completes it first; divide the whole class into two groups, each prepare some key knowledge, and question each other. The winning group can reduce the homework. These methods make learning fun.
Learning should also be full of ritual and make people "aftertaste". On the occasion of the New Year of 2020, I prepared a lot of New Year gifts for the students, including snacks, stationery, exercises, etc., and distributed them to everyone in the form of draws. Although the gifts were not expensive, the students were very happy. At other important points in life, I will also prepare different gifts for them, or take them to the supermarket to buy snacks. I want them to know that life is full of surprises and expectations, and that someone is always loving them, so they should also love themselves.
I want to be your eyes and your wings
In the second semester of teaching, due to the shortage of teachers in the w88 casino, I served as a physics teacher and a geography teacher for two classes. By chance, when I asked who had been to Gansu, only a few trembling hands were raised in the class. I decided to share my travel notes with the students while teaching knowledge in geography class. The high-rise buildings reaching into the sky from Hong Kong reminded students of Hong Kong's "densely populated" characteristics; the cityscape photos of Hangzhou reminded students that the vegetation type in southern China is subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest... These various travel sharings not only enhance the interest of the class and make students full of expectations for geography class, but also enable students to remember important knowledge points in a more relaxed way.
Since I worked as an admissions assistant at a w88 casino before graduation, I have mastered a lot of admissions promotional materials, and I also have a certain understanding of how to apply for the college entrance examination and how to choose a major. I use the evening self-study time to play admissions promotional videos and admissions presentation PPTs to students, so that they can understand the beauty of college life in advance. It is like giving them a pair of wings, and they will naturally work hard and move forward towards a better future.
As soon as the volunteer teaching began, I asked the students to write down their short-term goals, long-term goals, what they wanted to say to themselves in one year, and what they wanted to say to me on paper, and agreed to return it to them when I ended the teaching in one year. I still remember what each girl wanted to say to me: "Teacher, I didn't like you at first. I thought you were nagging all day long and didn't smile at us. But after getting in touch with you thoroughly, I felt that you were worthy of my study, and I began to like you." All emotional efforts will be responded to. I know that those incentives mentioned over and over again every day, those stories about the wonderful life in college, have planted the seeds of dreams in their hearts, and they will definitely bloom and bear fruit in the near future.
Warm others and be warmed
Teaching support is by no means a one-sided effort. Unable to adapt to the dry weather in the northwest, my throat often gets inflamed and I often catch colds when the temperature changes suddenly. Whenever they hear that my voice is hoarse, students will always secretly put "little surprises" on my desk - fruits, black sesame paste, home-grown wolfberries... They will also put small notes in their homework with the words "Teacher, pay more attention to your health! Get well soon!". The students' names for me gradually changed from "physics teacher" to "that teacher" and then to "Sister Xiao". All these made me feel the warmth of home in this place far away from home.
On the last day of teaching, the two classes prepared farewell parties for me. The students carefully arranged the classroom, stuffed me with snacks that they usually couldn't bear to eat, and secretly practiced singing just to sing to me on the last day. I also received a special gift. The students made a photo album of our photos over the past year, and each student wrote a private message to me on it. Thank you children, meeting you is the most beautiful scenery in my life.
For me, volunteer teaching is about growing together with the students and about the exploration of responsibility and love. The harvest of this year is an inexhaustible wealth for my life. Maybe many years later, my students will forget that I briefly appeared in their long lives, but I hope that when they recall that young time, they will feel warm and bright.
