Li Dongsheng worked in the former Ministry of Foreign w88 and Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Foreign w88 and Economic Cooperation) for many years and served as a commercial officer and counselor in our embassies in many countries. At the beginning of the lecture, Li Dongsheng first explained the legislative process of trademarks and geographical indications in my country, emphasized the important position of intellectual property protection in the w88 field, the leading role of trademark protection and application in my country's economy, and elaborated on my country's understanding and current situation of geographical indications and trademark protection. Then, he took France's use of "International Trademark Rules" to protect its own wine as an example, and proposed to apply the "International Trademark Rules" to my country's rural development by drawing on international experience and combining it with my country's reality. Later, he explained three topics from a macro perspective: the intrinsic relationship between trademarks and agricultural development, the connotation of using trademarks to promote agricultural development, and the implementation of using trademarks to promote agricultural development.
Li Dongsheng emphasized not to underestimate the important economic value of "trademark" and "geographical indication" registration for agricultural and sideline products. Trademarks are "intangible assets" that can bring added value and competitiveness to "intangible capital". He outlined that the use of trademark and geographical indication registration to promote rural and agricultural economic development is the ultimate goal of this work.
Talking about the growth of agricultural product trademark registrations in our country, he explained with figures: "There were only 210 registrations in 2006, and it increased to 3,753 in October 2017, an increase of 17.9 times in 11 years." Talking about the efficiency gains brought by trademark registration to the agricultural economy, he listed "Zhangqiu University Several cases such as "Onion", "Anxi Tieguanyin", "Ziyang Selenium-rich Tea" and "Pressed Melon from Zhongshan, Ningxia" illustrate that the registration of "trademarks" and "geographical indications" not only brings tangible benefits to farmers' incomes and enterprises' efficiency, but also promotes farmers' employment and drives the development of logistics, packaging, retail, wholesale and other related industries.
Later, he took the initiative to ask three students from Zhejiang, Shaanxi and Shanxi about the output of agricultural and sideline products in their hometowns, and had exchanges and interactions on issues of interest to the students. Li Dongsheng finally pointed out that facts have proved that it is feasible to use "trademark" and "geographical indication" registration to promote rural economic development.
After listening to the lecture, the students had a better understanding of the relationship between "trademarks" and "geographical indications" and the rural economy, and were more clear about their important role in promoting agricultural development.
