王志民特别强调，教师是最伟大、最神圣的职业之一，也是最普通的职业之一，要使得教学工作高度体现高校教师的责任与担当。他结合个人的从教生涯中所取得的成绩和荣誉，勉励广大高校教师在做好教学科研之余还要主动承担多项使命，为民族复兴、国家强盛、人民幸福做贡献。
