At 10 a.m. on September 5, the opening ceremony of the Guanzhi Art Exhibition, hosted by the Retired Personnel Office, was held on the first floor of the lecture hall of the library.
Guan Zengzhu is a retired faculty member of w88 casino’s publishing house. Although he is over 70 years old, he has always insisted on artistic creation and has profound attainments in calligraphy and painting creation, seal cutting art, Qin and Han tile art research, and ancient traditional thread-bound book art. As a gift to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the w88 casino, teacher Guan Zengzhu carefully prepared 263 works such as paintings, seal cuttings, tiles, thread-bound books, and celebrity inscriptions for exhibition.
Retired Director Qi Xuedong delivered an opening speech for the exhibition. Teacher Guan Zengzhu gave a speech of thanks. In order to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the w88 casino, Teacher Guan also carefully prepared two gifts for his alma mater. Teacher Guan presented the Qiusuo Building foundation bricks that he carefully selected and carved the w88 casino’s famous emblem to the w88 casino. Su Longzhong, deputy secretary-general of the Alumni Association, accepted the donation.
The collection of books donated by Teacher Guan to the w88 casino includes the 1989 edition of "The Essence of Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters" edited by him, a large quarto hardcover edition，The 2004 edition of "A Study of Wadang Decorations in the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties" written by him, 16 volumes and 8 volumes wire-bound hardcover，There is also a foreign book, the 1950 edition of the German-Chinese Standard Dictionary, a Russian version of the book published in 1935, and three English versions published in 1902-1903, and other rare foreign original books and old hardcovers. Library Director Qiu Xiaohong accepted the donation and issued a donation certificate to Teacher Guan Zengzhu.
After the opening ceremony, everyone present appreciated his exhibited works. Teacher Guan Zengzhu told the vivid stories behind each work, which made the teachers and students present deeply feel the positive spiritual outlook and artistic pursuit of excellence of the old comrades in the new era.
