Our Russian major in our school faces new opportunities and challenges in development

For the Russian major of our Foreign Language School and all teachers and students who are committed to the research of Sino-Russia relations and the development of Sino-Russia trade, this is undoubtedly a rare development opportunity!

The establishment of the "China-Russia Economic University Alliance" embodies the sweat of teachers and students of the Russian language department. They have made unremitting efforts and hard work for this in the past year of preparation. Under the overall arrangement of Professor Wu Jun, many teachers and classmates from the Russian Department cooperated with the school's International Department to invest a lot of energy in contacting and implementing relevant colleges and universities on both sides and preparing for the founding conference.

The establishment of the "China-Russia Economic University Alliance" provides a valuable opportunity for the development of the disciplines of Russian majors. Before the establishment of the alliance, our school had signed school-level cooperation agreements with Moscow Institute of International Relations, Russian National Humanities University, Russian People's Friendship University and other universities, and carried out cooperation matters in the fields of student exchanges and academic exchanges.

Borrowing the establishment of the "China-Russia Economic University Alliance", Russian majors' opportunities for students studying abroad will be further increased, and the possibility of personal experience of Russia's national conditions and field inspections of China-Russia economic and trade cooperation will be increasingly greater. At the same time, since the Sino-Russia Joint Training Graduate School is planned to open under the framework of the alliance, Russian majors may also enjoy the opportunity of joint training of universities between China and Russia in the future. The content of the training is not limited to language learning, but disciplines such as economy and trade, and management will also become optional professional directions. This coincides with our school's concept of internationalized school management and compound high-end talent training, so it will definitely promote the overall improvement of the school's quality of school management.

The future begins today

2013year11month23On the day, our school held a ceremony for the establishment of the China-Russia Economic University Alliance. The event was in the Integrity Building, which I have been familiar with for many years: familiar conference rooms, familiar tables and chairs, familiar stages... but I had an unprecedented feeling.

As a child, I often heard from TV, newspaper or adults about international affairs that have made new breakthroughs in China-Russia relations and China-Russia cooperation has reached a new high level. But every time there is a new cooperation project, every new agreement signing, every time the representatives of the two countries provide for participation in major meetings, I will feel very complicated: on the one hand, it is simply happy and pride for the future of the country, and on the other hand, it is a very distant feeling, even a sense of virtuality.

I grew up and came to China to study. I decided to tie my life together with China and Russia in my future and make contributions to the friendly relations and a bright future. Unexpectedly, shortly after I really had this idea, the opportunity came: I was invited to join the China-Russia Economic University Alliance Project and participate in its preparations.
