Good morning everyone! Today, the third graduate student congress of the w88 casino is grandly held. This shows that our postgraduate work has achieved great success, which is gratifying.
Taking advantage of today’s third graduate student congress, I would like to talk about three questions:
1. Main characteristics of changes in the postgraduate education situation
Graduate students are the main source of top-notch innovative talents needed for national socio-economic development and an important force in scientific and technological innovation. They are the high-end part of higher education talent training. What we call elite talent training usually refers to the postgraduate level. At present, improving the quality of higher education is the core task of the reform and development of universities, and improving the quality of postgraduate training is the top priority of cultivating innovative talents. Regarding the reform of the graduate talent training model, the two important documents issued by the Ministry of Education’s just-convened “Work Conference on Improving the Quality of Higher Education” reflect several obvious characteristics.
First, scale and structure adjustment. Ability and level mainly refer to international communication skills, professional expression skills, innovation skills, learning skills, coordination skills and organizational leadership skills. Fourth, the training and management process is made public one by one.Collect key indicators of the postgraduate training process nationwide by first-level disciplines, such as training plans, guidance processes, learning and scientific research processes, establish a database, open it to the whole society, and accept the use, evaluation and supervision of the society, including employers.
The fifth is the gradual integration of internship, practice, training and employment. Especially with the establishment of professional master's degrees, employment and internship practice have become inseparable.
2. Challenges faced by the graduate student union
The above characteristics pose challenges to our graduate student union work:
(1) Facing diverse groups.The work of the graduate student union should be oriented to diverse groups, integrate various resources, and produce interactive effects. Build a platform across disciplines, fields, colleges, and internationally, and build a learning and exchange platform for all types of graduate students, in-service, in-w88 casino, science degree, professional degree, Chinese students, and international students. (4) Expand the scope of activities.The scope of activities of the Graduate Student Union is not only limited to the campus, but also goes outside the campus and goes global. Graduate students’ associations should be in line with industries and enterprises, establish connections with companies and alumni associations, and establish and expand their influence.
3. Hopes for the new graduate student union
First, strengthen learning and be good at thinking.In the new historical period, the postgraduate training model has undergone new changes. Evaluation standards, systems, requirements and training methods and methods are constantly updated. The graduate student association should pay attention to the specific content, policies and related information of the reform of the postgraduate training mechanism, especially the changes in the training model, training plan, evaluation system and funding system. Analyze the pros and cons and impact of the changes on the individual development of graduate students, and find ideas and methods to deal with the changes.
Second, broaden your horizons and be brave in innovation.Adjust the working ideas of the Graduate Student Union, innovate working methods, and innovate activity models. Lian Si, director of the Department of Research and Engineering, introduced the establishment of a "graduate student development interest major database", which is a very meaningful exploration.
