The holy fire is extinguished, the classics will last forever
With the extinguishing of the flame of the 13th Paralympic Games, Beijing has successfully completed the Olympic mission and handed over an almost perfect answer to the world. This time, as the only volunteer working in the Bird's Nest in w88 casino, I was fortunate to witness this gorgeous conclusion together with my comrades in the language service who accompany me every day.
At eight o'clock, unforgettable moments from the Beijing Paralympics were displayed on the two electronic screens in the stadium. Bundles of fireworks soared into the sky from different directions.“Bird's Nest”The sky is blooming, and the Paralympic Games closing ceremony has officially begun.
I will never forget the “letter to the future” that sent blessings to people all over the world. On the green grass, small yellow flowers gradually bloomed, showing Chinese and English“Letter to the future”Words. The colorful red leaves of Xiangshan fell from the sky, and the girl in yellow danced gracefully, decorating a huge star on the grass“Envelope”……Hundreds of people in the passionate music“Postman”Slowly rising into the sky, like a geese flying in the sky passing a message. Meanwhile, cartoon“Postman”Put the postcards written by the audience into the mailbox inside the venue. One after another, postcards are sent to distant places full of Beijing’s wishes……
An unforgettable eight-minute performance in London. On a runway strewn with red leaves, a London iconic double-decker bus slowly approached. Passionate drum music, lively hip-hop dance, leisurely afternoon tea……
The unforgettable moment when the blazing holy fire goes out. On the lawn in the center of the stadium, a deaf-mute girl talks to the sacred fire in sign language:“Holy fire, have you seen it? You burn in my heart; Holy Fire, do you hear me? I'm singing for you with all my heart!”In the affectionate talk, the Beijing Paralympic flame gradually extinguished……
And what ended with the extinguishing of the holy fire was the volunteer life that I had long been unable to let go of...
The red leaves of Xiangshan are all over the bird's nest, and our hearts are flying with the flying red leaves, floating into the air, floating to every corner of the bird's nest, and following the red leaves, we once again travel throughout this home that holds so many beautiful memories for us!
A letter to the future, that envelope contains hope, the hope of every athlete, the hope of every spectator, and the hope of every one of our volunteers, hoping that the Olympic spirit will last forever.
Now, it’s time to say goodbye to all of this. Although the sacred fire has been extinguished, the classics created by us, all Chinese people, will forever be recorded in the annals of history. China, a developing country, uses her performance to proudly raise her head and accept the praise of people all over the world!
I cannot measure how outstanding Beijing is in organizing the Olympic and Paralympic Games, but as a volunteer, I have heard comments from foreign friends about us: "Beijing's Olympic Games are the best, and Beijing's volunteers are even better than the best!"
Goodbye, my bird's nest, goodbye, my Olympics!
Paralympics, a lifetime of emotion
Sending off the last sports team means that our Paralympic mission has been successfully completed. Looking back on the past half month, there is too much nostalgia, emotion, harvest and reluctance.
Since I started training on September 1st, I have put aside my busy w88 casino schedule, asked for half a month's leave from my teacher, and joined the volunteer team for the Paralympic Games. I have served in the Good Luck Beijing Volleyball Test Tournament and the Olympic Volleyball Tournament. The same position gave me enough confidence in my business capabilities.
Due to my small language advantage, Russian and English have become my daily working languages. During the competition, I served as an accompaniment for sports teams from Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc., helping to guide them in warm-up and competition in the venue, and helping the team members communicate and translate. For these Paralympic athletes, I admire them from the bottom of my heart because of their optimism and strength, and they always have a smile on their faces. Most of them have physical disabilities, but they are so hardworking and united on the court. They do not give up their dreams and come to Beijing from distant countries. Many of them have touching stories behind them. Serving these lovely athletes is truly rewarding. In order to push the wheelchair smoothly, we practiced with each other in our free time; in order to make the athletes feel respected and equal, my colleagues and I studied suitable service methods and expression methods; in order to make the athletes feel at home, I looked up the cultural customs of participating countries before the game; in order to ensure that the sports team trains and competes smoothly in the venue, my notepad is filled with professional vocabulary for sitting volleyball in English and Russian.
Looking at the bright smiles and optimistic and confident eyes of the athletes every day, my heart is touched and affected, and I am very happy to serve them. I helped the Russian team coach with English-Russian translation when communicating with foreign officials on the field. Their praise and trust made me feel that my volunteer work was so meaningful. While pushing the wheelchair for the girls of the Ukrainian team, I introduced them to China, Beijing, and the Paralympic Games. During the mutual communication, we have become friends. In order to thank me for my accompanying service, the Ukrainian team leader took out several Russian pamphlets and gave them to my friends and me. Although the souvenirs were not valuable, they left a good memory of my Paralympic volunteer life. On the last day of accompanying the Bosnia and Herzegovina men's team, I pushed their wheelchairs, carried their prosthetic limbs, brought them towels, carried ice cubes for them, fetched them water, and secretly cheered for them, because I admired this heroic team from the bottom of my heart. Many of them were disabled because of the war. In the finals, they finally won the silver medal. When sending the athletes to the car, a team member gave me the flowers in his hand, saying that he would remember Beijing and me. My eye sockets felt hot at that time, as if an old friend was about to leave for a long journey. Looking back on the days spent with these lovely athletes in the past half month, I felt so much emotion and reluctance in my heart that I will never be able to erase them for the rest of my life.
What is also difficult to part with is my work team. We from different universities have become a united and efficient group. Since the work is tight and the time is flexible, we all help each other after finishing our own work. In the end, we walked side by side to the end. We were moved by the athletes and each other. After getting along for less than half a month, we became rare confidants. What is unforgettable is signing in together facing the morning sun, what is unforgettable is leading everyone to greet the athletes outside the door, what is unforgettable is helping the athletes push the wheelchairs together, what is unforgettable is everyone planning a birthday surprise for the teacher in charge, what is unforgettable is everyone’s reluctant tears on the last day.
The Paralympic Games ended like this. I still remember that a few days ago, everyone was doubting whether they could serve the disabled athletes well. Later, we helped them move their prostheses, push their wheelchairs, and became friends and confidants with them. We have really grown a lot and matured a lot. My mother called me and said that I was very moved when I saw those volunteers serving the disabled on TV. They are all pampered children at home. I secretly sighed because her daughter was one of these volunteers. The Olympics are unforgettable, the Paralympics are unforgettable, both Olympics are equally wonderful, and for me, both Olympics are equally unforgettable. Speak carefully,Water Cube
Finally it was time to say goodbye, and the overwhelming reluctance in my heart turned into a faint smile. The words of farewell came to my lips, but I couldn't say them out.
What is unforgettable is the aqua blue bubble wall, the vehicles passing between the parking lot and the security checkpoint, and the myriad of strange questions that overwhelm us; what is nostalgic is the simple lounge with wooden tables and plastic stools, which is sea blueTThe perfect combination of T-shirt and gray trousers, with friends talking and joking around.
Everything will come to an end at some point. It is enough that we can meet, accompany and know each other in this September. No matter five, ten or twenty years later, this memory will shine in our minds and never fade, because this is not only an experience, but also a growth. Looking back on my volunteer life for more than half a month, I found it was sour yet sweet, and bitter yet joyful. I learned how to communicate with others better, worked hard to stabilize my emotions, and also learned that I was powerless about many things. Before I officially took up the job, I thought I could balance my studies and work with ease, and could remain calm in any unexpected situation. I also imagined countless times chatting with tourists from all over the world.
When it came time to actually work, the previous illusions were shattered one by one. We all take the shuttle bus to the Water Cube at 6 o'clock in the morning, and we don't get back until 9:30 at the latest. We stand in the sun for four or five hours a day and have to answer questions from the audience. Sometimes when you meet someone who is particularly cumbersome and unreasonable, you still can't get angry, let alone ignore them. It really tests a person's emotional intelligence. Once, the audience insisted on entering through the vehicle inspection gate under our jurisdiction. Suddenly, dozens of people surrounded several volunteers. Then they yelled and yelled, got furious, and refused to leave after being persuaded for a long time. Although several of us volunteers present felt aggrieved and scared, we still had the courage to slowly calm down their emotions. Even thinking about it now is still scary.
I originally thought that I would cry loudly in the end because of nostalgia and reluctance, but in the end I said goodbye to everyone with a smile. All the nostalgia and care in my heart bloomed into a flower-like smile at the moment of separation. I would like to express my gratitude to the Paralympic Games, the Water Cube, and my partners. I will stride forward with all the beautiful memories. (National Aquatics Center Volunteer Lu Siyu)
The sea is blue, carrying the eternal volunteer spirit
Aquamarine T-shirt, light yellow fanny pack, I neatly folded these Olympic memories one by one. The five-ring logo on the clothes has witnessed the hot August; it has witnessed the sweat and laughter; it has witnessed the moment of honor when the national anthem is played; it has also witnessed us, a group of young, progressive, enthusiastic college students who volunteered to participate in the Beijing Olympics. We were moved by the Olympics, and the Olympics also baptized us.
I still remember that I was only in the second grade of junior high w88 casino when the bid for the Olympic Games was successful in 2001. At that time, I was counting and counting, and I happened to be a sophomore in college for the Beijing Olympics. At that time, I was looking forward to and looking forward to, why did time pass so slowly. However, when the Olympics were really around the corner, they still hadn’t realized it. In 2008, Beijing needed vitality, motivation, and a group of college students to serve as volunteers. Thus, a long-cherished wish came true. My friends laughed at me, "How old are you?" I didn't answer, because only I understand this feeling best.
The impulsiveness of young people, the passion of those born in the 1980s, we are ready to go. The whole capital is dyed sea blue. In the stadium, sea blue figures are busy. On the road, sea blue arms are guiding the way, and I am just a drop of water in this sea. Fortunately, I used my major in the Volunteer Olympics - serving athletes from CIS countries in Russian. For the first time, I deeply felt that what I learned was useful to the country, and I was useful to the world. Looking at the comments made by foreign athletes and reporters about the Beijing volunteers - these young people are Beijing's best business card - I know that this is about us. We have shown the world how outstanding China's college students are, and China's future is more promising.
Looking at the badges, sportswear, and Olympic commemorative envelopes sent by athletes from all over the world, there are many photos of beautiful moments. Behind each thing there is a story, the volunteer’s own story, leaving so many beautiful memories when we were young. I am really lucky. Even when I am gray-haired, looking through the yellowed pages of my diary, I am still proud of my college life, because I played a part in the Beijing Olympics, a grand ceremony of mankind at the beginning of this century. In September, we returned to w88 casino, and our mood slowly calmed down. We put away our navy blue attire, put away the enthusiasm for the August Olympics, and put away the pride shrouded in the five rings. We are still us, a group of ordinary college students. We still have to continue taking classes, continue to look for jobs, and continue to take postgraduate entrance examinations. However, we must do better now, because at the Beijing Olympics, the world saw us, and we also saw the world. It was really fresh and exciting. This is what we will face in the future. Therefore, a sense of responsibility arises spontaneously - today we are young and enthusiastic, and tomorrow we are mature and rational; today we serve the Olympics, and tomorrow we will serve the whole world!
I still remember that on the eve of the Olympics, we stood under the scorching sun and raised our right hands and read out "I volunteer for Beijing2008The solemnity of "devote yourself to the success of the Olympic Games", the motherland handed over the Olympics to us in this way, thank the motherland for its trust, thank the people for their trust; I still remember that in order to better provide Olympic services, I filled my notebook with professional English and Russian vocabulary At that time, I secretly promised to be the best version of myself in the Olympics; I still remember what the Russian coach said when he shook hands with me and said goodbye, "This period of life has left an unforgettable memory for us all. Thank you for your motherland and thank you. We are friends. This kind of friendship transcends any feelings. I look forward to seeing you again in the future!" "At that time, I felt that our efforts were really worth it; I still remember that the athletes gave me the bouquet of roses in their hands after winning the medal. At this moment, I realized that what I gained most during this period was a touch. This touch came from the whole world, without borders, barriers, and different colors. Our eyes and skin are connected, but our hearts are connected; we still remember the scene when we said goodbye to our companions on the last day; we still remember returning to that beautiful venue in our dreams... It would be a lie to say that I can let go, my memory is like sea water, I dare not open it easily, for fear of being drowned in these sweet memories!
Said with emotion, I was once an Olympic volunteer, and the unforgettable August recorded our selfless dedication.
Confidently, I am still an Olympic volunteer at this moment. I have gained too much from the Beijing Olympics and grown too fast. Our souls have been branded with the indelible mark of "volunteer".
Proud to say that I will always be an Olympic volunteer. The Beijing Olympics has become a thing of the past, but the volunteer spirit will last forever.
I will never forget this summer, I will never forget this blue Beijing. We were still young at that time, we had unlimited enthusiasm at that time, and we interpreted a spirit that moved all mankind - the spirit of volunteers! (Olympic frontline publicity and reporting team Song Shuang)
