Paralympic Games - Expectations from the Main News Center

Meng Yue

Today is my first day on the job during my Paralympic service. As soon as I entered the store in the morning, I was attracted by the neatly arranged shelves of "Fu Niu Lele" products. It turned out that the classmates who had gone to work the day before had sorted out the main products for the Paralympic Games. The entire mpc had also been given a new look, and all the icons printed in Beijing had been replaced with the Paralympic World and People logos. Walking in the central area, we can see auxiliary tools specially designed for disabled people anytime and anywhere, such as blind paths, special passages for disabled people, etc. Seeing all this, I can’t help but think of coming to mpc for training a few days agohourThe teacher said that the Paralympic Games has higher and stricter requirements for volunteers than the Olympic Games, which will be a greater test for volunteers. But seeing the confident smiling faces of the volunteers, we can say with confidence: We are ready for the Paralympics!

With one day left before the opening of the Paralympic Games, reporters from various countries began to arrive at the mpc one after another. There are not many people in the licensed product store, and customers are more willing to choose the cute Fu Niu Lele as their purchase object. There are also many reporters who don’t know much about Lele, so we taught them how to say “福牛乐乐” in Chinese and told them the meaning of this mascot. Foreign friends all liked “Lele”. As we work to make the Paralympics more user-friendly, we are also thinking about how to improve our services. We have placed a small table next to the cashier to make it easier for people in wheelchairs to sign and swipe their cards. We will also share with each other what issues we should pay attention to when communicating with people with disabilities and how to respect them more.

We have gained a lot from the Olympic Games. The Paralympic Games will be a greater challenge for us. We are confident that we can complete the next work well and take care of our studies while working seriously. We will work hard with Chinese disabled athletes to achieve great results!

9month6It is the opening day of the Paralympic Games,IBCThe work of the franchised merchandise store during the Paralympics has also officially begun. In fact, before this day, we had already started work early - taking the Olympic souvenirs off the counter in the store, taking the newly arrived Paralympic souvenirs back to the venue, putting them on the shelves, changing the Olympic logo in the store to the Paralympic logo, adding barrier-free facilities, etc. And all this work is for the sake of being in9month6GiveIBC12491_12510

Paralympic souvenirs have slightly fewer varieties than Olympic souvenirs.IBCThe only stuffed toys in the store are "Fu Niu Lele",TShirts, hats and pencil cases, although there are not many types of products, they are still very popular. After spending a month with Fuwa, everyone felt refreshed and excited when they saw the cute Fu Niu Lele.

On the first day of opening, the passenger flow was naturally not comparable to that at the beginning of the Olympics, but it was still higher than a few days after the Olympics ended. The volunteers are still devoted to their work with the fullest enthusiasm.
