Central District Super Store Our playing field
The Olympic Games, for every Chinese, is a venue, a venue where the Beijing Olympics competes with previous Olympic Games; a venue where Chinese athletes compete with other top players in the world; and a venue where China shows the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, transcends itself, and competes with itself. At the same time, the Central District volunteers are also experiencing a competition, and the Central District Super Store is one of their venues.
Volunteers start this competition before customers even enter the Super Store. As a salesperson, I have to replenish goods every morning before opening the business, count and register the goods that sold well the previous day, then go to the warehouse to pick up the goods, then put the goods on the shelves, clean and tidy the counter, and make final preparations before opening the door. Needless to say, you are busy after opening the door. You need to introduce prices, product functions, and manufacturer information to customers who come to buy or watch. If necessary, you need to help them compare products and choose products that are truly suitable for customers. For such a job that requires professional sales skills, the volunteers are basically competent after learning from the person in charge of the counter and accumulating experience over several days. They are the setters and centers of this game.
With15The Bird's Nest started to have competition events, and the competition for volunteers in the Super Store became more challenging. The peak hour of the super store has been moved up from 3pm to 11am. When there are too many people and the store is crowded, security volunteers have to restrict customers from entering. They not only have to ensure a compact and orderly flow of customers, but also take into account the safety of customers. To this end, the super store has specially prepared many large parasols to allow customers to avoid the heat while queuing. However, in order to coordinate customers, security guards have to rush back and forth under the scorching sun. They are an essential part of the entire game, like the first passer on the volleyball court and the defender on the basketball court.
The cashier is undoubtedly the striker and attacker. Although their work seems boring, it is actually a lot of fun. Every day they have to contact people from various countries, including spectators, athletes, technical officials and coaches. Every checkout is a language exercise, an accumulation of experience, and a broadening of their horizons. Although it is fun, their hard work cannot be ignored. They stand for no less than seven hours a day, make hundreds of checkouts, and move tens of thousands of funds. For those who have just left their parents and are still living in the ivory tower of the university, this is indeed a big challenge.
The volunteers’ sweat was not in vain. Today, the Central District Super Store welcomed Chen Gang, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Gao Yu, Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau, and Volkswagen Global Vice Chairman. They came to the super store and purchased goods, and praised all the volunteers for their good spirit and serious and responsible work. The successful operation of the Super Store also attracted reporters from world-renowned news organizations such as the Associated Press and Reuters. They came to the store for interviews and used cameras to record the hot scenes of the Super Store and the hard work of all personnel.
Looking back at the Super Store game, the schedule is just over halfway and the results are remarkable, but the road ahead is still full of challenges. At this moment, in the hearts of guests and friends from all over the world, volunteers are also an important part of the Beijing Olympic Games. While the athletes are sweating profusely on the field ahead, volunteers are also using their sweat to create this human sports feast. We have reason to believe that we will win the Super Store competition!

There is such a special place in the Olympic Central District Super Store. It is separated from the store and sells different products. This is the fast lane. There is one person in charge, eight sales staff, four cashiers and two security staff, and together we form a small team.
When we first arrived in the central area and learned that our position was a "fast track", we were all a little confused. What exactly is a "fast track"? After we learned about it, we learned that the "fast lane" is a group of counters specially designed to facilitate customers' shopping, quick checkout, and shorten the checkout time.
When we came to the express lane before the Olympics, everyone carefully understood the price and characteristics of each commodity here in order to introduce it to customers. Here we mainly sell various "suits" with the theme of "Fuwa". With different models of Fuwa, we call the products here "Fuwa suits". Since the set contains many different types of goods, the attentive and thoughtful salespersons add up the unit prices of each item and calculate the difference between the total value and the set price, letting customers know the price advantage of this set and saving customers time and energy for comparison.
After learning about the products in the fast lane, we began to neatly arrange the supporting products of various sets under the spacious sales counter, and placed the various products of each type of suit in adjacent positions to facilitate customers to quickly pick up the goods, making shopping in the fast lane faster and more convenient. The attentive classmates also put labels on the clothes of various sizes to indicate the matching suits and clothes sizes, which further shortened the time we spent looking for goods under the counter. In order to reflect the characteristics of the fast track and solve various problems in sales, everyone in the team contributed ideas and suggestions. We not only gained a lot of valuable experience from our own practical exercises, but also learned a lot of useful knowledge from each other.
Our small team has established a deep friendship at work. Not only with classmates, but also with our leader, Zhang Yanliang. His amiability and humor have become the lubricant for the efficient operation of the entire team. The classmates affectionately call him "boss". Like other staff and leading teachers, he is the first to come to the central area every day and the last to get off work after a busy day.
It is through these hardships that we have learned to care about others, learn to be tolerant, and actively cooperate with and fully understand other people's work. Throughout the work of the fast-track team, we learned to cooperate with each other and deeply realized what teamwork spirit is. It is not only a reasonable division of labor to complete the work, but also understanding and trust between people. Although the number of people in this small fast-track team is small, based on cooperation and understanding, we have realized how powerful the collective power is. These feelings have not only become our eternal memory of serving the Olympics, but will also benefit us a lot in our future work.
Enjoy it

I have been working as a badge seller at a super store in the central area for a week. This week, it is inevitable to be tired. Picking up goods, loading goods, replenishing goods, tidying up the counter, patiently explaining product features to customers, and helping them choose. By the end of the shift, my legs were completely numb. However, the volunteers discovered the joy of selling amidst the hard work.
Exchanging commemorative badges has become a pleasure for us after work. After exchanging badges with some foreign customers and Chinese customers, I learned that this event is actually held in every Olympic Games and is a major feature of the Olympic Games. You can always see many badge collectors wearing shiny hats and ID lanyards with badges of different styles pinned to them. Once you find your favorite badge on someone else's hat or lanyard, the exchange begins. When a foreign friend asked for an exchange for the first time, I thought it was weird. But after many exchanges, and the badges on my lanyard began to be covered with badges, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Now everyone has become a "master" in badge exchange. During breaks, we always get together to show off our “results” and even start exchanging badges internally. The happiest thing is that sometimes when foreign friends enthusiastically help, they often give us some beautiful badges from their countries. This makes us more enthusiastic to help and serve guests, and also makes us feel the joy of giving.
The days of sales can be ordinary. Every day I sell the same thing and use the same introduction. I can also say passionate. I can see different people and encounter all kinds of things every day. A week's work has yielded many precious badges, many well-intentioned gifts, the store manager's care, and wonderful friendships... I think we will all continue to work hard and gain more joy!
