I'll take you to cheer up!
Shunyi Olympic Water Park Game Volunteer Cheerleader Xue Li
2008Year8month11日 Monday Cloudy to showers
The weather is nice today, not too sunny. When I arrived at the venue in the morning, the supervisor said it might rain today and that raincoats needed to be distributed to the audience at the security check, so he sent me there. From the beginning of the audience's entry to the end of the security check, the distribution of raincoats was carried out in an orderly manner.
The competition has begun, it is the men's single rowing preliminaries. With the permission of the security supervisor, I went to the stands to guide the audience to cheer. The rapids stand is larger than the Jingshui stand, and there are noisy sounds in the stand - the sound of water, the broadcast of sports shows, the cheering of spectators from all over the world... Various sounds are mixed together, and it is difficult to attract the attention of the audience. There are my colleagues in the stands who have been standing here for hours as cheerleaders. Although it has a loudspeaker, it has little effect. I tried it myself and found that if I listen to it through the loudspeaker, it can be heard by the audience about five rows in front. Whether I can hear it or not depends on the situation at the time. This makes our work somewhat difficult.
If you have difficulties, you must find a way to overcome them. Since the stands are big and the noise is noisy, run a few more spots and shout a few more times. When the audience learns these cheering gestures and slogans, as long as some of them are mobilized, other spectators will follow suit.
I didn’t stay in the stands for long because I was assigned to the information booth. However, during this brief contact, some problems were discovered.
There are many audience seats in the rapids area, and the distribution span is large. The overall organization is more difficult than the local organization. Most foreign audiences have their own cheerleading lineups, with their own slogans, gestures and rhythms, which are different from ours. When cheering together, it seems not neat enough. The timing of refueling is difficult to grasp. Since we were teaching gestures to the audience with our backs to the track and no attention to the sound of the sports display, we were unable to understand the race situation in time and it was difficult to grasp the timing of refueling.
Finally, there is a serious shortage of cheerleaders in the stands. It is understood that there is only one cheerleader in each stand, and he needs to lead thousands of spectators. The environment is noisy and the difficulty can be imagined.
The problem needs to be solved and requires the full cooperation of all parties:
The number of foreign spectators was not as large as that of the Chinese spectators, but they seemed very impressive. When they organized cheers, some Chinese spectators also clapped and shouted along with their rhythm. You might as well equip the cheerleaders with a trumpet for cheering (used by foreign audiences, which works very well). The sound is louder than a loudspeaker and easier to identify in the noise. At the same time, it also protects the voice of the cheerleading leader;
The lineup of cheerleaders in the stands should be strengthened. It’s very difficult to do it alone. Other volunteers in the stands have their own jobs and have no time to assist us. In addition, the grandstand is large and there are many spectators, so it is even more necessary for cheerleaders to present themselves as a whole to organize and drive the spectators. You might as well manage it in separate areas and be responsible for organizing spectators in nearby areas to cheer for you. This saves time, allows you to grasp the timing of refueling, and boosts the atmosphere on site.
In short, the cheerleading leader is a whole, and needs to be presented in front of the audience as a whole in order to attract their attention, thereby stimulating their enthusiasm, organizing cheers, and activating the atmosphere of the stadium.
PS: The companions in the stands are really having a hard time, but our cheerleaders who are assigned to other business offices are helpless. It's late at night, I wish my companions a good sleep.Cheerleader, fighting!
