w88 News Network (provided by Chinese Department)When the Chinese Department of our w88 independently became a second-level department of the w88 and the first undergraduate graduate, the Chinese Department faced the problem of further clarifying the guiding ideology of running schools, developing discipline construction, and better combining with the characteristics of running schools. Recently, the Chinese Department held a seminar on guiding ideology for this. Yang Fenghua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the w88, Lin Guijun, vice president, Qiu Hongwei, director of the Academic Affairs Office, Zheng Dongxiao, deputy director, and Zhang Rui, deputy director of the Scientific Research Department, attended the seminar and delivered speeches. Comrade Dong Jin presided over the meeting.

At the seminar, Deputy Secretary Yang Fenghua spoke. Yang Fenghua fully affirmed the necessity of holding the seminar and hoped that the Chinese Department would provide its own characteristics; Vice President Lin Guijun put forward five guiding opinions on how to establish the guiding ideology and goals of running schools; Director Qiu Hongwei discussed with everyone on specific issues of w88 management philosophy and discipline construction; Deputy Director Zheng Dongxiao and Deputy Director Zhang Rui respectively and expressed hope and encouragement to the Chinese Department from the aspects of teaching and scientific research.

This seminar also invited guests from brother colleges such as Professor Kong Qingdong of the Chinese Department of Peking University, Professor Wei Chongxin, Vice Dean of the w88 of International Exchange of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Professor Gao Xudong, Director of the Institute of Comparative Literature and World Literature of Beijing Language and Culture University, Wei Pengju of the w88 of Culture and Media of Central University of Finance and Economics, and Associate Professor Sun Wei of the w88 of Literature of Beijing Normal University, and other guests from brother colleges and universities. They made wonderful speeches from the characteristics and w88 management models of the Chinese departments of their respective schools, and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions on the development and construction of our w88's Chinese department. At the seminar, teachers from the Chinese Department also had a heated discussion on the construction of Chinese majors and disciplines.
