At noon on March 2, the Student Union of the General Branch of the English College held a plenary meeting for the second half of the 2005-2006 academic year in Boxue 207. Mr. Wang Yunhai, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, and Mr. Li Feng, Secretary of the General Branch of the Communist Youth League attended the meeting. This meeting mainly summarized the work of the Student Union last semester and made arrangements and plans for the activities of this semester.
The meeting was chaired by Li Zheng, Vice Chairman of the Student Union. The first item of the meeting was delivered by Zhu Yue, Chairman of the Student Union. Zhu Yue summarized and affirmed the work done by various departments of the Student Union last semester, and particularly pointed out that the second English recital competition, English Culture Festival, fun sports meeting, quality development week and other activities were very successful. Zhu Yue believes that the achievements of the Student Union last semester are inseparable from the joint efforts of various departments. In particular, the Communication Services Department, News Department, Learning Department, Sports Department and other departments performed particularly well, which played a huge role in promoting the smooth development of the work last semester.
Teacher Wang Yunhai then made a speech. He first affirmed the achievements of the student union in the last semester and made specific requirements for the work of this semester. Teacher Wang specifically pointed out that in the coming semester, while doing their jobs well, members of the student union should still put study first, strive for better results, and form a good learning atmosphere within the student union. At the same time, the student union is required to focus this year's work on the construction of the academic style of the college. First, conduct an investigation and analysis of the academic style in the college. Focus on personal growth and talent, conduct a large-scale discussion on the academic style construction, identify the problems in the academic style of the college, prescribe the right medicine, take targeted measures, actively and effectively reverse the learning atmosphere of the college, and strive to form a healthy, positive, optimistic, and orderly learning atmosphere in the college as soon as possible! Then, the third event of the conference was held to award the Outstanding Officer Award. Through this meeting, all departments and officers carefully summarized the experience and shortcomings of the last semester, and made careful plans for the work of the next semester.
