Serving the people wholeheartedly is the fundamental purpose of the Communist Party. The title of Communist Party member means serving the people wholeheartedly.

In 1943, Mao Zedong put forward the idea of "serving the masses" in his instructions to the Party Central Committee.September 8, 1944, in the article "Serving the People" published by Mao Zedong at the memorial service in memory of Comrade Zhang Side, he theoretically and systematically expounded the scientific connotation of serving the people for the first time.At the Seventh National Congress in 1945, serving the people wholeheartedly was mentioned for the first time as the "only purpose of the party" and was written into the party constitution as one of the core contents of the party's fine style.

Deng Xiaoping said in reply to the meaning of the Chinese Communist Party members: "If we use a general language to express the meaning or mission of the Chinese Communist Party, there are only two sentences: serving the people wholeheartedly, taking the people's interests as the highest criterion for every party member, and its purpose is to realize socialism and communism." He asked all comrades in the party to consciously regard the people's "happy or unhappy, satisfied or dissatisfied, agree or disagree, agree or disagree" as the starting point and destination of formulating and implementing policies.

It is precisely because our party and the people breathe the same breath, share the same fate, and are heart-to-heart that it has won the heartfelt support and trust of hundreds of millions of people, achieved great victory in China's revolutionary cause, and achieved its ruling position. After the party takes power, due to changes in status, environment, and tasks, on the one hand, many party members have certain powers in different positions; on the other hand, joining the party not only has no "disadvantages" for individuals, but can also reap "benefits" by using the status of the ruling party. If you cannot keep in mind the purpose of the party, serve the people wholeheartedly, and consciously position yourself as a public servant, you will inevitably increase the risk of being separated from the masses and even corrupt, and will inevitably shake the status of the ruling party.Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out education to maintain the advanced nature. 2、Only when Communist Party members keep the Party’s purpose in mind can they give full play to the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members

Under the new historical conditions of reform and opening up and the development of the socialist market economy, to develop a market economy, we must act in accordance with the laws of value and follow the principles of equal exchange, fair competition, and the pursuit of profits. If these principles penetrate into the political life of party members, they will inevitably have a negative impact and induce the selfish thoughts of some people who do not have a strong sense of the party's purpose, thus leading to the occurrence of "pay for work", money worship, and power-for-money transactions. Some party members and cadres have been shaken in their purpose, and some have even completely lost the position that a Communist Party member should have. They have thrown the interests of the people out of the window, ignored party discipline and state laws, and sought personal gain by any means, causing corruption within the party to breed, seriously damaging the image of the party and the government, seriously corroding the team of party members and cadres, leading to separation from the masses, corrupting social atmosphere, endangering political stability and economic development, and ultimately affecting the party's ruling status. Therefore, under the new situation, Communist Party members must keep in mind the party’s purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly and integrate the personal interests of party members into the interests of the overwhelming majority of the people.In accordance with the requirements of maintaining the party’s advanced nature, the personal political direction and life value orientation of party members and cadres must be consistent with the party’s purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, as Comrade Jiang Zemin pointed out:“The people, and only the people, are the highest arbiter of the value of our work.” As a member of the Communist Party, especially the party’s leading cadres, we must always support the interests of the people as the highest standard for all the party’s work, faithfully fulfill the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, and never waver under any circumstances.Insist on sharing the joys and sorrows with the people, keep in mind the "two musts", and sincerely seek the interests of the people. Only in this way can the vanguard and exemplary role of party members be brought into play, the love and support of the broad masses of the people can be gained, and the status of the ruling party can be consolidated.

3. Only by keeping in mind the purpose of the party can disciplinary inspection cadres resolutely oppose corruption and maintain the advanced nature of party members

Resolutely overcoming negative corruption is the consistent thought of our party, and resolutely fighting corruption is determined by the nature of our country’s socialist regime and is also a major task for our party in its ruling position. Discipline inspection and supervision cadres must keep in mind the party's purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, fully perform the duties and tasks assigned by the party constitution, and ensure the realization of the party's political program and political goals. They must do the following aspects:
