The epidemic "pushed" me to experience the video conference
——Talking about China’s digital economy from two video activities

A project final meeting
On the morning of March 6, 2020, I participated in a video conference. The specific content was the final review of a business data survey project entrusted by a department of the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Commerce Research Institute. I am one of the reviewers they hired and serve as the leader of the review team, along with several university teachers. All members of the project team attended the meeting, and the person in charge was a vice president of the institute. Because it was during the epidemic prevention and control period, gathering activities were avoided as much as possible, so the organizers used the remote conferencing service of "Tencent Conference".
I heard that this kind of remote conferencing service was developed a few years ago, but there are only very few users. We are not familiar with the participants of this meeting, so on the morning of the 5th, the organizer’s deacons contacted us one by one via WeChat and issued the operation procedures for registering to use “Tencent Conference”. We register to join the "meeting" according to the operating procedures. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the deacon called everyone to "meet" on the "meeting" platform for a trial call. After confirming that everything was correct, the meeting would start the next day.
The video conference officially started at 9:30 on the 6th. The whole process was just like in a real conference room: 1) The director introduced the background on behalf of the project demand side; 2) The project team reported the data survey design plan, implementation status and results. 3) The review experts ask questions one by one, and the team leader summarizes several questions for the project team to answer. 4) The project team answers questions. 5) The review experts study and pass the review opinions. 6) Officially read out the review opinions. The meeting ends at 11:00.
I can’t remember how many times I have done reviews like this for the Ministry of Commerce. I thought: Even if the epidemic subsides, if the review meeting is held again, do we still need to gather in the conference room? You need to know that you have to go through the formalities to enter the ministry compound. Although it is not complicated, it takes a certain amount of time. What's more terrible is that going all the way to East Chang'an Street is very time-consuming!
A teaching supervision meeting
On the morning of March 3, I participated in an online teaching supervision meeting held by the relevant working committee and the Academic Affairs Office. According to Huang Zhenhua, acting director of the Related Work Committee, the higher-level Related Work Committee asked veteran comrades to participate in the supervision of online courses during the epidemic, so he contacted the Academic Affairs Office and held such a special supervision meeting. Considering that the teachers in the permanent supervision group all live far away, Wang Guilin and I were invited to make "friendly guest appearances". The Academic Affairs Office is in the online course monitoring room of Zhixing Building and arranges for us to watch the online courses being taught by him.
According to Zhou Bo, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, w88 casino has 1,286 online courses for graduate and undergraduate students this semester, with a total of 2,104 courses, 814 lecturers, and 98,494 participating students, basically achieving full coverage. Online courses include recorded classes (accounting for 1/2 weak) and live classes (accounting for 1/2 strong). Recorded courses include selecting excellent courses offered by other institutions; live courses come in various forms, including courseware plus video, courseware plus audio, and courseware plus on-site explanations. Basically, students sign in, teachers assign and check homework, open forums and classroom interactions.
We sat in the control room, compared with the course list being played in real time, and selectively listened to courses such as "Basic Principles of Marxism", "Mao Zedong Thought and the Theory of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics", "Outline of Modern Chinese History", "Linear Algebra", "Human Resources Management", "Statistical Survey", "Selected Readings of Famous Translators", "Securities Valuation and Investment Analysis", "Macroeconomic Analysis", "Translation Theory and Practice", "English-Chinese Translation", "Business English Listening and Speaking" and other courses. Observe 1-2 frames of PPT courseware for each course, and the listening time is about 3-5 minutes. Listen, watch, share your feelings and leave comments. The comments discussed include not only "artistic" issues such as the viewing effect of PPT film production, the impact of teacher's intonation and speaking speed on students' listening effect, but also philosophical issues such as how to reflect ideological and political orientation in courses with strong mathematical rationality. We also learned from the Academic Affairs Office that the w88 casino treats teachers' creation of excellent courseware and writing of teaching and education reform papers as publishing excellent papers, in order to encourage teachers to invest more in this aspect.
This semester I served as a postgraduate student majoring in customs at the w88 casino of Public Administration8Zhou’s teaching tasks were based on the online course requirements of the Academic Affairs Office and I spent time making courseware. What I do is recording and broadcasting classes, inPPTAdded lecture audio to the courseware, which also took some trouble. After all, I have never done such a job before. When writing the syllabus, I noticed that the w88 casino uniformly requires that the ideological and political content of the course be reflected in each chapter, and that a separate column be listed in the teaching schedule to indicate what kind of ideological and political content is reflected. As a former w88 casino leader who was in charge of publicity work and student affairs, I support the Ministry of Education’s instructions on curriculum and ideological politics, which are necessary measures to cultivate builders and successors of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
I wonder, how should we attend classes after the epidemic subsides? Having produced so many coursewares, some of them may further improve the quality and become models. Will some classes be moved to online teaching? It’s enough to use one template for parallel classes. What will the extra teachers do? How can online courses better guide students to learn relevant content and strengthen their ability to analyze and solve problems? Instead of memorizing concepts and principles by rote.
Fighting the "epidemic"-Digital technology is changing the way of life and production of Chinese people
During the epidemic prevention and control period, many of the lifestyles and working methods we are accustomed to have been forced to change, which has also given rise to the development of the new economy. The unmanned delivery cars that were still in the experimental stage are now "in service" in Wuhan. There is a JD Logistics car on the road from Wuhan Ninth Hospital to the express station in the epicenter of the epidemicXThe unmanned vehicle developed by the business department is running back and forth, solving problems in the site50%-60%'s single order. Another example is using5G, artificial intelligence, facial recognition and other technologies to find "close contacts" during the epidemic, just by using the WeChat mini program, you can find the communities where recent diagnoses have been confirmed and the transportation methods used by patients.
The invention of health code is a revolution in personnel identity and health status management. In many cities today, virtual health codes have replaced community passes. They are used to determine people's health status, record body temperature, identify high-risk groups, and guide the entire population to make independent health declarations. This enables hierarchical data collection by communities, enterprises, schools, etc., and government supervisors can view epidemic data at hierarchical levels, reaching more groups, covering more scenarios, and accessing more data. Citizens only need to fill in their personal health status once to obtain a health code, which can be used to enter and exit communities, offices, traffic checkpoints, airports and train stations, etc. The health code data collected in the hometowns of migrant workers is recognized by employment companies thousands of miles away. This, coupled with point-to-point work pick-up, greatly facilitates the resumption of work and production.
In the medical field, some hospitals in Wuhan have launched free online fever therapy. Remote consultation, which was rarely used in the past, has become more commonly used between provincial medical teams assisting Hubei and experts in their own provinces.
“Black technology” also shows its talents in other fields. Students in universities, middle schools and primary schools are choosing courses at home. residents/Businesses no longer need to go to government offices and banks, they can stay at home/You can handle certificates, finance and taxation and loan procedures in the enterprise. Enterprises need workers to resume work and production, and the human resources and social security departments have contacted them through online offices. For the upstream and downstream supporting production and logistics needs of enterprises, the industrial and information technology departments have connected them through online offices. In preparation for spring plowing, drones are used to spread fertilizers and pesticides, which not only avoids human contact but also improves production efficiency. There are also video conferences of cross-regional cadres of the party and government, and video conferences of cross-regional subsidiaries of enterprises.

Fighting the "epidemic" - a new opportunity for China to enter the digital economy
This is the new economy that uses big data, the Internet of Things, cloud computing and artificial intelligence and other advanced new technologies. The formal name should be called the digital economy. The digital economy includes two major parts: digital industrialization and industrial digitization. The first refers to computer and information production and services moving from scientific research to industrialization and becoming an independent industrial sector in the national economy; the second refers to integrating digital technology into agriculture, industry and service industries (including education, science, culture, health and sports services and party, government and military services), innovating products to better meet residents' daily consumption and enterprises' productive consumption. The new things listed in the previous paragraph are just a few examples of the digital economy, which is comprehensively entering every aspect of economic and social life. This really applies to the saying: "I'm not afraid that you haven't seen it, but I'm afraid that you won't think of it."
The supply side of the digital economy has quite strong technological support and market development awareness. Take Tencent, for example, which developed a health code. The “Tencent Conference” mentioned earlier is even more popular. Faced with rapidly growing demand, they discovered that100The human (free access to conference) function is no longer enough, so free access will be opened on the same day300People. The number of users of Tencent Meetings has skyrocketed almost every day, from2month5Starting from 16103_16123|, the Tencent meeting team will follow the users of that day every day4-5X times the size to prepare the server for the next day. At present, Tencent Conference can satisfy global needs130Conference needs of tens of millions of users in countries and regions.
196416711_168502035The goal of “basically realizing socialist modernization”. Recently, the central government has proposed a fifth modernization on top of the "four modernizations" - the modernization of the national governance system and governance capabilities.
My experience is that from the perspective of "science and technology are the primary productive forces",21The modernization of the century is to fully enter the era of digital economy. The outbreak of COVID-19 in China is a major test of the party and government's leadership and mobilization system, the spiritual outlook and quality of the people across the country, and a test of China's economic flexibility and ability to turn crises into opportunities. The epidemic will have a negative impact on the Chinese economy in the short term, but it cannot change the long-term positive development trend of the Chinese economy. We should seize this opportunity to intensify the construction of the digital economy and accelerate the pace of China's socialist modernization.
