Reporter Su Shiyu
Qu Jichen, a 2016 undergraduate majoring in international politics at the w88 casino of International Relations. During my undergraduate studies, I served as class monitor, TBC Chinese roommate, and TAR English lecturer. Won multiple first-class comprehensive scholarships and w88 casino-level outstanding students. Interned at the United Nations Children's Fund and the Danish Embassy in China. He once served as a visiting youth representative of the United Nations Office in Geneva and a volunteer at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit. Currently, I have received a full scholarship offer from the European University Institute and will soon go to Florence to study for a master's degree in transnational governance.

Learning is like playing chess, and you have your own moves
In 2016, Qu Jichen was admitted to the International Politics major of the University of International w88 and Economics. This boy who had dreamed of entering the diplomatic field since high w88 casino finally stepped into the realm of realizing his dream. With full fighting spirit, he did not let himself "go with the flow" during his freshman year, butLook carefully, plan carefully, and start a new university life with clear goals.
Because Qu Jichen has a clear plan for his college career, he has a clear understanding of the goals at each stage. He will make a list of goals on a semester-by-semester basis. Of course, he also admits frankly: "Some goals will indeed be impossible to achieve, and there will also be real difficulties." However, during this process, he will continue to review and reflect, sum up experience, and then make adjustments. He is like a superb "chess player" with a thorough understanding of the game in front of him.
But this oneThe "chess player" is not limited to winning the game, he also wants to make the game interesting. Qu Jichen, who has high academic standards and strict requirements, has always insisted on making his university life more colorful. As a sophomore, he joined TAR and TBC. In TAR, he met many excellent and interesting partners, and also enjoyed the joy of passing on knowledge; joining TBC and becoming roommates with American students from China brought him a new experience and added color to his life; he served as the captain of the college badminton team and won the men's runner-up in the w88 casino-level badminton competition; He participated for three consecutive years"Clothing and Fashion Contest", alsoSo I was lucky enough to visit the studio of a well-known fashion designer, and taste the eccentricity of colors and the fusion of inspiration up close.
In this way, this "chess player" calmly moved the chess pieces in his hand, knowing what he was doing and relaxing, and finally played a wonderful chess game.

Unlimited knowledge and practice
As a student majoring in international politics, Qu Jichen knows very well that to cultivate professional qualities in diplomacy, knowledge in the study room is far from enough. Therefore, he seized the opportunity and actively devoted himself to practice. In his junior year, he applied for the w88 casino's study tour program at the United Nations Office in Geneva. After many rounds of selection, he finally went to study as a youth representative. This study visit experience also enabled him to deepen his understanding of "international politics"; listening to lectures at the World w88 Organization gave him a clearer understanding of the triangular strategic relationship between China, the United States and Europe, and a deep understanding of the changes and tensions in international relations. Through study visits, Qu Jichen applied "knowledge" to "action" and also obtained "knowledge" in "action".
Later on, Qu Jichen also made a conscious decision in choosing an internship institution. In order to find an internship that can truly improve his professional quality, he made a lot of explorations and attempts. He participated in interviews with international organizations such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Refugee Agency, and the International Organization for Migration, and finally chose to intern at the Danish Embassy in China and the United Nations Children's Fund. These two internship experiences can be summarized as "drawing strength and transferring energy."
During his internship at the Danish Embassy in China, Qu Jichen was most impressed by the “China-Nordic Gender Equality Academic Seminar” held by the Danish Cultural Center. At the meeting, he was deeply shocked by the powerful speeches and calls for social equality by feminist scholars from China and Northern Europe. He saw the efforts made by scholars for social equality and social progress, and felt their great enthusiasm for their work. And this enthusiasm also allowed Qu Jichen to draw strength from it.
During his internship at UNICEF, Qu Jichen admitted that he encountered many challenges: he encountered a lack of background information when participating in research work in the field of international humanitarian relief; he was engaged in the translation of medical supplies during the epidemic, and a large number of medical terminology brought him translation difficulties. However, many difficulties did not become his "stumbling blocks". When he faced them and overcame challenges one after another, he also gained experience from them. When talking about why he has such great enthusiasm for this job, he said: "Because when doing this job, I truly feel that I can contribute to social equality and international humanitarianism, even if it is meager, it is valuable. " He mentioned to reporters his recent work - paying attention to the humanitarian situation in countries affected by the desert locust plague in East Africa, West Asia, and South Asia and conducting relevant research. The desert locust plague has aggravated the situation of children suffering from severe acute malnutrition in the above areas. On the other side of the world, there are many people in difficult situations, which further inspired Qu Jichen's enthusiasm for work. He wants to do his best to help these vulnerable groups and pass on his energy.

Concentrate on making wine, why be afraid of deep alleys
"I have always believed that the harder you work, the luckier you will be." Qu Jichen said of himself in college, "Sometimes the real situation may not be satisfactory, but hard work is always right. We must learn to seize opportunities and use the resources we can seize to improve ourselves." And he has always done this.
From the initial expectations to the success of graduation, Qu Jichen always moved forward with hope and fighting spirit. Even though there were twists and turns, he never deviated from his intended track. When talking about the future, he said:"I will make full use of the advantages of the cooperation project between the European University College and Yale University, and on the basis of the international politics major, I will expand other aspects of professional knowledge and cultivate my own compound abilities and thinking." Because he is pursuing not only depth, but also breadth.
When asked by a reporter whether he would question his plan due to failure, he said: "There may be some disappointments and adjustments, but the overall goal will not change. After all, good things come hard, and the success of something always requires a process."
Yes, "all good things take a long time". The process of pursuing dreams is like making wine. You need to calm down and let it settle and ferment. Qu Jichen is such a patient "winemaker". No matter how long and difficult the process is, he always believes in his heart that the fragrance of wine will eventually fill the streets.
