Reporter Liang Bingjian

Wang Ningyi, Master of Actuarial Science, w88 casino of Insurance, a member of the Communist Party of China, won the second prize of master's degree scholarship twice during w88 casino, and the second prize of the 2018 China University Student Insurance Bank Survey Data Analysis Competition. During graduate w88 casino, I had a GPA of 3.79 and worked as an intern at China Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Sun Life Everbright Insurance Co., Ltd., and Founder Hesheng Investment Co., Ltd.About to join Bank of China Insurance Co., Ltd.

Not long ago, Wang Ningyi completed her master's thesis. After taking a break from the stressful graduation season, she ushered in some leisure time that she had not had in many years. Recently, she became obsessed with cooking. She cooks with the up owner "Food Writer Wang Gang R" on Station B, and provides three meals a day for her family. "I can make braised pork ribs and cold noodles with shredded chicken," she told reporters with a smile. Thinking that she had just emerged in the autumn recruitment not long ago and received more than ten high-quality offers, people can't help but feel a bit of a contrast.

The story of developing a noodle tyrant

Aiming to find a job in the banking and insurance industries, Wang Ningyi started preparing for autumn recruitment very early. The first interview was scheduled for July. In August, the lingering heat at the end of summer had not yet faded, and she received the first offer notice from Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. After that, many big companies successively offered her an olive branch, and in a short period of time, she got an offer that was enviable to others. "I feel relaxed, so I dare to speak." She attributed the smoothness of her early autumn recruitment to this. However, being frequently favored by large companies also made her care more about the success or failure of each interview. Her gradually unbalanced mentality soon caused her to encounter the Waterloo of her autumn recruitment, which was an interview with the Agricultural Development Bank of China.

For most job seekers, the Agricultural Development Bank of China is quite attractive, and Wang Ningyi is no exception. She spent more than a week preparing for this interview. As an actuarial major, she spent a lot of energy to understand the bank's business and financial products, sparing no effort to be fully prepared. "I really want to take it down," she described her mood at that time. Hearing this sentence, it is not difficult to imagine Wang Ningyi's enthusiasm and desire for this job, but perhaps it was this mood that caused her to perform abnormally. When she finally came to the interview site and faced more than a dozen interviewers from Agricultural Development Bank, she shed a few tears from the corners of her eyes because she was not satisfied with her performance in answering a question. She was surprised at that moment. She didn't know why she was crying. She just continued to answer the interviewer's questions while shedding tears. By the time the interview came to an end, the tears on her face were no longer clearly visible. Although she quickly controlled her tears, this emotional fluctuation was still noticed by the interviewer. As Wang Ningyi expected, she failed to pass the interview.

Depression and disappointment followed, and for a period of time after that, she never regained her previous high-spirited state. Wang Ningyi has been in the fitness habit for many years. Whenever she has a lump in her chest, exercise will help her relieve her worries, and it was the same this time. One evening, she was running on the w88 casino playground. Looking at the runners on the same track, Wang Ningyi suddenly had a realization in her heart. "When I run at a constant speed, I always pass one person after another, but if I stop, someone will soon pass me." When she said this, her speech slowed down, as if she was recalling something, "I thought of 'competition' at the time. It was like a competition between me and others."

That day on the playground in Huiyuan, she emerged from the shadow of her failure in applying for the Agricultural Development Bank of China. According to Wang Ningyi's self-report, after her interview with the Agricultural Development Bank of China, she hit her lowest point in autumn. During that time, she was not in the best shape to do anything. But it was all over now. When she packed her bags and left the playground, she left all her past regrets and entanglements behind. She felt that she could not "stop where she was", so she began to review every interview she had ever participated in, trying to adjust her mental state.

“Too much utilitarianism”, she summarized the reason when talking about the tears she shed when she participated in the interview with Agricultural Development Bank. She always thinks about getting an offer, so she worries about gains and losses during interviews. This mentality puts too much pressure on her. Now, after experiencing the autumn recruitment experience, she said that in the so-called interview, "just show your best side." With this mentality, Wang Ningyi embarked on the second half of the autumn recruitment process. Soon after, she participated in an interview with Bank of China Insurance. At that time, she didn’t know that she would eventually become associated with this company, but today she still clearly remembers the day of the interview. The first round of interviews was a leaderless group discussion. Many of the job seekers in the same group came from the same university. A few people who were familiar with each other controlled the rhythm of the discussion from the beginning, making it impossible for the remaining group members to interrupt. This time, Wang Ningyi's mentality was not unbalanced. Faced with such a situation, she did not rush to speak. Instead, she organized her thoughts and silently waited for the opportunity to show herself. In the end, she got the offer letter as she wished. Looking back on the autumn recruitment, for Wang Ningyi, who has offers from many famous companies, how to choose is also a happy worry. When talking about the reasons why she finally chose BOC Insurance, she firmly believes that only by working in the insurance industry can she realize her own value. "Insurance is a tool that benefits people's livelihood and stabilizes society. It uses huge amounts of data to make the risks of thousands of individuals predictable," she explained.

"Cool Girl"

In addition to a good mentality and sufficient preparation in advance, Wang Ningyi’s considerable “results” during the autumn recruitment also benefited from her rich internship experience. During her first year of graduate w88 casino, she concentrated on her studies and took most of the credits. In the remaining two years, she spent 12 months off and on between internship companies and schools, practicing her professional skills in practice.

Although her internship experience has been very rewarding, there is also some unknown sweat behind the results. What impressed her most was her internship at Founder Hesheng Investment Co., Ltd. This was her first internship. On the first day she arrived at the company, she was asked by her leader to independently complete the reporting materials for a financial company. This is a difficult task for an intern. “I was completely confused.” Recalling her confusion at that time, her voice rose a bit.

There was only one week left for her. Although she could only explore many issues on her own, she thought that this was the internship position she had applied for. With the belief that “if you accept it, you will spare no effort to complete it”, she devoted herself to writing materials. When she first entered the workplace, she worked overtime for a week in a row and became the last person to leave in the office. At that time, every night at eight o'clock, everyone in the company would have clocked out and the lights in the office would automatically turn off. Facing the cold fluorescence of the computer screen, the workstations around Wang Ningyi were all empty, and she felt a sense of fear with her back facing the darkness. At this time, she trotted away from the work station, turned on the light with a click, and then devoted herself to the tedious data and materials. Whenever she finished her work for the day, it was already nine or ten o'clock when she returned to the dormitory. Looking at her pale face, her roommate knew that she was working overtime again. This became a tacit understanding between her and her roommate during that time.

“I think I’m pretty cool.” Recalling the days when she gritted her teeth and wrote materials, she praised herself with emotion, “I didn’t think it was cool at the time. I felt that the hard work and tiredness were all deserved, but now that I think about it, it’s really cool.” The “coolness” in her mouth should be the motivation to “spare no effort to complete the job once you decide it.” Later, when Wang Ningyi was an intern at Sun Life Everbright Life Insurance Co., Ltd., this motivation was also revealed.

During her internship at this company, she became a member of the product actuarial department. This was the internship closest to her major. When she was in w88 casino, her tutor told her that even for the right job, what she learned in w88 casino was far from enough. She still had to learn a lot of new things when she got to work. Even though she was prepared for this, when she came into contact with the product pricing model outside the classroom, she was surprised by its complexity. "I was very confused at the time. I couldn't see the connection between those functions and formulas." Wang Ningyi encountered challenges when he applied what he had learned in his major to work for the first time.

However, a turning point came soon. She persisted in the company. When the internship lasted for a month, she felt suddenly enlightened. During this month, she worked on many insurance product pricing models, used actuarial software to calculate the company's actuarial reports, assisted in the development of two new products and conducted policy testing for them... After doing all this, she looked back at the product pricing model that gave her a headache at first. "Isn't this what I learned in w88 casino?" she couldn't help but sigh. "The teacher is right," she said, "but if you look through the underlying logic, you will find that the theoretical basis of these new things are all learned in w88 casino."

With her unsparing energy, she once again became the "cool girl" in her mind.

When asked about the most impressive internship experience, Wang Ningyi chose her internship at China Life because this internship “had the opportunity to be retained, but I didn’t get it.” As for the most impressive interview, she also chose the one in which she failed to apply for the Agricultural Development Bank of China. This regretful experience occupies a particularly important position in her memories.

“If you succeed in something, you won’t find it difficult, but the experience of failure is more valuable for reflection,” she concluded. "Reflection", she mentioned this word more than once during the interview. She clearly remembers the aspects in which certain job seekers who participated in the interview "performed very well". She can recall which interviewers she met who asked "very high-level" questions. She will review her performance in each interview, and she will reflect on the areas where she failed to "do her best" during the internship. The detailed plot was abstracted into the characteristics of various characters and behaviors, and then vividly presented in her memories for her to think over and over again. This was a habit she had had since she was a child. Whether it was a test that she failed at or a conflict with a friend, she would always review past experiences in her mind, not to stay in the past, but to move forward.
