At Dalian Maritime University, an institution famous for its maritime law major, Mr. Dong not only laid a solid legal foundation during his undergraduate studies, but also deeply studied maritime law, an ancient branch of law.

Maritime law originated from ancient merchant practices and deeply attracted Mr. Dong with its unique origins, principles and systems. Studying in Southampton: Deep cultivation and integration
As the world's top maritime law institution, the University of Southampton has gathered the world's top maritime law scholars and experts. During his master's degree study experience at the University of Southampton in the UK, Mr. Dong became more deeply immersed in the ocean of maritime law. In the intensive learning mode at the University of Southampton, hundreds of cases need to be read and analyzed every week. At the same time, British shipping has a long history and occupies a leading position in the world in the practice and rule formulation of maritime law. It has access to the latest maritime rules and shipping practices. Not only did I gain valuable knowledge and insights, it also had a profound impact on Dr. Dong’s academic career.
While studying and living in the UK, I interacted with classmates and professors from different countries and cultural backgrounds. This multicultural collision and exchange brought a more open mind to Teacher Dong. She recalled: “Realizing that people from different cultural backgrounds have diverse ideas and perspectives helped me develop critical thinking and learn to tolerate and respect differences. ”
Higher studies in the Pearl of Hong Kong: exploration and sinking
Subsequently, Mr. Dong studied for a doctorate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and continued to focus on research in the field of maritime law. Here, she was deeply influenced by the rigorous academic attitude of her tutor, Ms. Zhu Ling, and learned how to treat academic research in a rigorous manner. Teacher Zhu Ling’s guidance has greatly helped Teacher Dong’s future scientific research, allowing her to explore and move forward more leisurely in the academic ocean.

Teacher Dong adopted a variety of methods, such as combining hot topics and current affairs, using multimedia teaching resources, encouraging students to participate and discuss, and constantly updating teaching content, which effectively improved students’ learning interest and teaching effect.
