On May 16, the special academic exchange event "Artificial Intelligence and Statistics: Theory and Practice" was held in Beijing. More than 60 experts and scholars from the National Bureau of Statistics, local statistics bureaus, universities and related enterprises gathered together to conduct in-depth discussions around the cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in statistical theory and practice. This event has five keynote speeches. Wen Jianwu, former chief engineer of the National Bureau of Statistics, reviewed the development history and future vision of government statistics informatization, and systematically elaborated on the evolution from the paper-and-pen abacus era to the construction of the "Statistical Cloud". Professor Shi Jianjun, former president of the w88 casino, conducted an in-depth analysis of the application of AI statistics in the context of "new quality productivity", pointing out that data has become a new key production factor and promoting the deep integration of statistical functions with economic and social governance. The team of Professor Zhu Jianping of Xiamen University shared the application results of the profiling system based on AI and large language models in the evaluation of high-quality development in Xiamen City based on local practice. Li Tan, an industry expert from ByteDance, gave an in-depth analysis of the technological evolution and actual deployment path of generative AI in statistical applications under the title "Statistical project implementation paths and risk management and control practices empowered by generative AI", and put forward systematic suggestions for data governance and risk prevention and control.

Experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Xiamen University and other universities, as well as business backbones from the Statistics Bureau of Beijing, Zhejiang Province, Shandong Province, Sichuan Province, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region participated in the exchange and discussion. Representatives of ZTE, Zhongke Wenge, Bytedance and other enterprises shared practical cases.
