November 27, 2025,Professor Yang Hangjun, Vice Dean of the w88 casino of International Economics and w88, w88 casinoAccepted a live interview on my country's low-altitude economic development in China International Television's "China 24" column. The following is the content of the interview:

Host: This year’s Asian General Aviation Exhibition (AERO Asia) has attracted the active participation of many major international companies. In your opinion, in addition to its huge market size, what unique cooperation environment and value can China provide for multinational companies in the global low-altitude economy?

Yang Hangjun:In addition to its huge market size, China has a complete innovation ecosystem from R&D to practical application. First, China has built a full-chain closed loop from technology research and development, testing and verification to large-scale commercial use. Enterprises can complete prototype development locally, rely on world-class supply chains to achieve rapid iterations, and simultaneously conduct pilot operations in big cities and remote mountainous areas, significantly shortening the innovation cycle. Second, the low-altitude economy has been established as a national strategic industry, which means that airspace opening, infrastructure construction and regulatory framework formulation can all be promoted collaboratively across departments. For multinational companies, policy uncertainty has been significantly reduced. This top-level design complements the dynamic private economy, which is good at rapidly deploying new technologies and realizing commercialization. Third, China’s mature digital economy enables low-altitude services to be instantly connected to existing super applications and platforms. Imagine booking an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft) through a ride-hailing app, or embedding drone delivery into an e-commerce logistics network - these provide global players with a ready-made large user base and mature business channels. In summary, China has created a low-altitude economic commercialization accelerator that can transform technological innovation into viable and scale-effective commercial entities faster than other countries.

Host: In the global race to promote the commercialization of eVTOL and autonomous drones, how do you evaluate China’s competitive advantages? In what areas is it most necessary to cooperate with overseas partners?

Yang Hangjun:I believe that China’s core competitive advantage lies in its complete industrial chain including batteries, motors, composite materials, electronic components and other links, which can achieve cost-effective large-scale and rapid production. Take power batteries as an example. As a global leader, China occupies an important commanding height in this key component with the highest cost ratio. In addition, the central and local governments' strategic focus on the low-level economy provides enterprises with long-term policy visibility, financial support and regulatory guarantees, effectively reducing the risks of long-term investment. As for areas in urgent need of international cooperation: First, although some progress has been made, there are still gaps in core software, certifiable flight control systems and integrated avionics systems. These are areas where Western aviation giants have accumulated decades of experience. Second, cooperation with mature aviation regulatory agencies (such as the US Federal Aviation Administration FAA and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency EASA) and overseas counterparts is crucial. This will help Chinese companies overcome the complex global airworthiness certification process and ensure that products comply with international safety and performance standards. Overall, the ideal cooperation model should give full play to the advantages of China's manufacturing and industrial chain supply chains, while integrating the world's top core system integration capabilities and certification experience.
