On February 25, in order to further promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil in the fields of education and business, the FAAP Business Confucius Institute successfully held the “Exchange Meeting to Promote Cooperation between Educational and Business Institutions” in Sao Paulo. Representatives from the Brazilian government, multiple departments at FAAP University, and representatives from Chinese-funded enterprises participated in the event. The meeting conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as China-Brazil educational cooperation, industry-university docking, and cultural exchanges.
Angela Gandra, Director of the International Relations Bureau of the City of Sao Paulo, attended the event and delivered a speech. In her speech, she said that international cooperation should not only stop at the economic level, but also academic cooperation, cultural exchanges and mutual language learning are equally important. She believes that education is an important bridge connecting different countries and civilizations. Through continuous cultural dialogue and academic cooperation, different societies can achieve common progress through mutual understanding.
Lourdes, Director of the International Relations Office of FAAP University and Brazilian Director of the Business Confucius Institute, and Zhu Xiaoshu, the Chinese Director, spoke respectively and jointly introduced the development and main functions of the Confucius Institute in Brazil, focusing on the positive role played by the Institute in Chinese education, language training, cultural exchanges, and serving China-Brazil education and business cooperation.
Dean Zhu Xiaoshu emphasized the importance of "deep learning" and "deep cooperation" in his speech. She pointed out that in international communication, language exchange is only the first step. Sometimes, even if you can understand each other's language, you may not truly understand the cultural background, way of thinking and value logic behind the other party. This is precisely the most easily overlooked but most critical part of cross-cultural cooperation. Confucius Institutes not only undertake language teaching functions, but also play a role as a bridge and link between different civilizations through systematic cultural exchanges and long-term interactions, helping both parties enhance understanding and build mutual trust, and lay a more solid humanistic foundation for cooperation.
After the exchange meeting, the guests watched the dragon and lion dance performances. The sonorous sound of gongs and drums and the lively dance movements pushed the atmosphere to a climax, and also allowed many Brazilian guests to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture up close. Afterwards, the guests continued to communicate in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and had in-depth discussions on the possibilities of future education projects, talent training and corporate cooperation.
Attendees generally believed that this event not only established a pragmatic and efficient communication platform for Chinese and Pakistani educational institutions and enterprises, but also further shortened the distance between each other through cultural display and face-to-face communication. The event laid a good foundation for future continued cooperation in the fields of education, business and humanities.
