The 15th Summer Davos Forum was held in Dalian from June 25th to 27th. More than 1,700 representatives from more than 100 countries and regions conducted in-depth discussions around the theme of "New Frontiers for Future Growth". As a public product and cooperation platform welcomed by the international community, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative has become a hot topic at this forum. At present, the world economy is facing growth difficulties, and the anti-globalization trend is spreading. The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" is riding the wind and moving forward. It has developed from a "general freehand" plan to a deeply cultivated "meticulous painting", building a bridge for world interconnection and becoming an important source of power for the development of the world economy.
The “Belt and Road Initiative” has expanded from hard connectivity to soft connectivity, building a bridge for global cooperation.The “Belt and Road” initiative continues to reach new heights, showing a new situation of blossoming and vigorous development.
First, policy communication develops in depth. Under the "Belt and Road" initiative, China has taken the initiative to strengthen docking cooperation with relevant countries in terms of development strategies, institutional mechanisms, and various platforms, promoting bilateral and regional cooperation. So far, China has achieved extensive integration with Russia's "Eurasian Economic Union", Kazakhstan's "Bright Path" new economic policy, Indonesia's "Global Maritime Pivot" concept, South Africa's "Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan", Egypt's Suez Canal Corridor Development Plan and other strategies.
Second, facility connectivity has achieved a new leap forward. The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" will accelerate the construction of multi-level and composite infrastructure networks, and basically form a four-in-one transportation facility network pattern of "land, sea, and sky". At present, China has signed bilateral air transport agreements with 104 co-building countries, and has achieved direct air flights with 57 co-building countries; 86 China-Europe freight trains running at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour pass through the main areas of the Eurasian hinterland, and the logistics distribution network covers the Eurasian continent; in the direction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, the China-Russia Heihe Highway Bridge and the Tongjiang Railway Bridge are open to traffic, the China-Russia East Line Natural Gas Pipeline has been officially opened, and the China-Mongolia-Russia Middle Line Railway upgrade and development feasibility study has been officially launched.

As of June 2023, China has jointly created a cooperation platform with the co-building countries and established the Silk Road International Theater Alliance, Museum Alliance, Art Festival Alliance, Library Alliance and Art Museum Alliance, with 562 member units, including 326 cultural institutions in 72 co-building countries. At the same time, it has signed agreements on mutual recognition of higher education academic degrees with 45 co-building countries and regions.
The “One Belt, One Road” initiative accelerates the economic development of the countries we jointly build and promotes the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure.From the perspective of production capacity cooperation, China has continued to promote industrial structural adjustment in recent years, but labor costs are relatively high compared to those of the jointly-constructed countries. Compared with this, the industrial structure of the jointly-constructed countries still needs to be upgraded. The “Belt and Road” initiative industrial cooperation has promoted the adjustment of the industrial structure of the co-building countries and promoted win-win cooperation between China and the co-building countries.
From the perspective of employment, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative has promoted the cause of full employment and poverty reduction in the joint construction of the country. According to World Bank projections, by 2030, the Belt and Road Initiative will lift nearly 40 million people in the countries we have built together out of poverty, of which 7.6 million will be lifted out of extreme poverty.
From the perspective of sustainable development, China is promoting the joint construction of a green "Belt and Road" to become an international consensus. In 2023, the world's newly installed renewable energy capacity will be 510 million kilowatts, of which China will contribute more than 50%, continuing to contribute to global energy conservation and emission reduction. Modern transportation, urban construction, electronic information, etc. have gradually become important technical fields for China to promote international cooperation in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and the green, open, innovative and other characteristics of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" have been continuously enhanced.
The “Belt and Road Initiative” injects new concepts into global governance and conveys the concept of development and cooperation in building an open world economy.Currently, the existing global governance system and mechanisms are full of problems, and reform and reshaping are urgent. The Belt and Road Initiative puts forward new proposals for the reform of the global governance system with new perspectives, perspectives and methods.
