1. Introduction to the College

The w88 casino of Government traces its roots to the Department of Customs Management established in 1974. In order to serve the national strategy, it was specially set up by the General Administration of Customs (then the Customs Administration and affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign w88) at the w88 casino. It was the first teaching unit in China to recruit undergraduate students majoring in customs management. The w88 casino of Humanities and Administration was established in 2001, and the w88 casino of Public Administration was established in 2006. It was renamed the w88 casino of Government in 2020. Peng Peiyun, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the All-China Women's Federation, inscribed the name of the w88 casino.

The college has formed a complete discipline development sequence and undergraduate, master and doctoral training system to cultivate talents specialized in national governance. It has 4 undergraduate majors at the undergraduate level; at the master's level, it has the right to confer a master's degree in the first-level discipline of public administration and a professional master's degree in public administration (MPA); at the doctoral level, it has the right to confer a second-level doctoral degree in public policy and management; at the international student level, it recruits undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.

Three teachers from the college were selected as national high-level talents, one person enjoyed the special allowance from the State Council, and one person was awarded the title of Beijing Famous Teaching Teacher. In the past five years, teachers in the college have hosted or undertaken more than 50 national, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects, published more than 400 high-level academic papers, written more than 100 research reports, and published more than 40 monographs and textbooks of various types. In 2019, the college’s MPA program successfully passed the certification of the Global Schools of Public Administration Alliance (NASPAA). The college has signed strategic cooperation agreements with the State Administration for Market Regulation, Beijing Bureau of Market Regulation, Beijing Customs, China Customs Management Cadre College, Beijing Daxing International Airport Airport Economic Zone Joint Management Committee and other units, and maintains close academic cooperation with these units to build a student internship practice base.

1. Multiple channels empower undergraduate teaching

w88 casino focuses on leveraging the advantages of multiple channels to empower undergraduate talent cultivation. It fully relies on the college’s MPA project and international student project, and through practical research activities, case competitions, and scientific research projects, it achieves the organic integration of undergraduates, master’s students, and international students, and promotes the positive empowerment of undergraduate education by master’s and doctoral education and international student education. This education model also builds a platform for students to communicate and cooperate. Through the cooperation between senior master's students and junior undergraduates, it not only allows undergraduates to learn more professional knowledge and scientific research methods, but also uses the experience of senior classmates to help junior students better adapt to the academic and social environment, and quickly improve their practical skills, teamwork spirit, scientific research and innovation capabilities and other comprehensive qualities.

2. Promote new changes in the integration of industry and education

w88 casino relies on its research advantages and industry connections in the fields of customs management, market supervision, data governance, business environment, and cultural management, highlighting the dual goals of domestic governance and overseas security. Starting from five aspects: industry demand-oriented curriculum optimization, in-depth development of internship practice platforms, project-driven learning model shaping, dual-qualified faculty construction, joint research and project cooperation, we innovate the education and teaching model, highlight the integration of industry and education, and cultivate compound talents that adapt to complex social needs.

3. Accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence into the teaching system

w88 casino has always adhered to the educational philosophy of “interdisciplinary education and practical empowerment” and built a “four-dimensional integration” talent training system. Relying on the w88 casino' position as an academic highland in international economic and w88 policy research, it deeply integrates the advantages of management, economics, law, computer science, statistics and other disciplines to innovatively create a full-chain education model of "theoretical teaching-data modeling-simulation deduction-think tank services". Through the collaborative development of intelligent analysis systems between schools and enterprises, students can master core skills such as rule text analysis and policy effect evaluation in a virtual simulation environment. This construction not only strengthens the cross-teaching of economic and management law and digital technology, but also provides students with a practical platform to participate in global governance research through exclusive database construction and index research, and comprehensively cultivates compound talents who are "common with rules, precise in data, and good at decision-making"

1. The integration of industry and education yields fruitful results

The "Smart Customs" education platform led by President Li Ming of our college and jointly declared with Beijing Customs has been approved as the Beijing industry-university-research in-depth collaborative education platform. Establish a normalized cooperation mechanism with government departments such as the General Administration of Customs of China, China Council for the Promotion of International w88, Beijing Customs, and Daxing Comprehensive Free w88 Zone, and regularly send students to the practice base for study and internship.

The Department of Public Economics and Policy of our college maintains close contact with the Tencent Research Institute. For two consecutive years, it has organized undergraduate students and department teachers to visit and study at the headquarters of Tencent in Beijing, and conduct research and discussions with the staff of the Tencent Research Institute. During the visit, the students were able to have close contact with and understand Tencent's core technologies and products, learn about research results and application cases in cutting-edge technology fields such as artificial intelligence, and understand how Tencent uses its own technological advantages and platform resources to support and promote public welfare projects in education, environmental protection, medical and other fields. During the discussion, the development of cutting-edge technologies and application trends such as multi-modal agents accelerating AGI processes, digital interaction engines, and improving the overall capabilities of Hunyuan large models were discussed, as well as topics closely related to the subject direction such as mobile payment. Through this activity, students can personally experience and understand the practice and application of public economic management by modern technology enterprises in the digital economy era, enhance the combination of theory and practice, and explore AI-enabled teaching and scientific research methods and potential.

The Department of Cultural Industry Management of our college focuses on the policy frontier of cultural reform and development, and develops and establishes a series of practical teaching bases around social needs and student demands to promote the effective operation of the industry-education platform. We have signed a series of cooperation agreements with the China Institute of Arts and Technology, China Culture and Media Group, China Youth Tourism Group, Qingdao Oriental Film City Industrial Park, etc. to create a first-class industry-education platform for students’ internship practice; we maintain close cooperation with government departments such as the Policy and Regulation Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Chaoyang District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Yanqing District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Jinding Street in Shijingshan District, and Lingshanwan Street in Qingdao West Coast New District to provide first-class opportunities and resources for students to research and study.

2. New breakthroughs in case teaching and practical teaching

Since General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of “organized scientific research” many times, teacher Ning Jing realized that teachers should form scientific research teams around major national needs. Focusing on the development of artificial intelligence, an emerging technology, teacher Ning Jing formed an academic research team to write senior government reports and academic papers. Under the guidance of Teacher Ning, his team published a total of 15 papers, including 2 Category B papers and 3 Category C papers. In order to respond to the major national demand for "new productivity", she established an artificial intelligence policy big data analysis team and recruited more than 100 research assistants to participate in data collection, topic analysis and report writing for provincial party and government agencies. With the strong support of the college, teacher Ning Jing organized the "Big Data and Quantitative Research Methodology" scientific research and education training class. The team makes full use of the characteristics of multi-disciplinary integration of public administration, uses big data quantitative methods and artificial intelligence applications to conduct scientific research and education, through teacher lectures, teacher-student discussions, paper topic selection, writing, and submission guidance. A total of 75 students participated in the "Big Data and Quantitative Research Methodology" activity in 2023-2024, including 42 undergraduates, 22 master's students, and 11 PhD students. Many students have published papers using lecture methods. In 2024, students from the quantitative methods team produced 6 papers.

Teacher Feng Xinrui focuses on practice-oriented teaching design. The course focuses on practical operations and focuses on the cultivation of programming, data processing, and analysis abilities. The course is divided into four parts with a total of twelve chapters, with clear logic and clear goals; it pays equal attention to practice and theory, and runs through the whole process of "teaching-practical training-evaluation". The teaching content closely follows the "whole process of Python data analysis", covering practical libraries such as pandas, numpy, jieba, etc.; each course is equipped with exercises to strengthen students' hands-on ability; periodic reports are arranged to promote project advancement and improve students' expression ability. Students are required to submit a complete research report and complete closed-loop research training from problem identification to empirical analysis.

In the "Public Crisis Management" course taught by Teacher Song Yantao, students visited Xiaoguan Fire Rescue Station, observed fire drills on-site, and had in-depth exchanges with front-line rescuers. By intuitively understanding the actual operating procedures of public crisis management, students closely integrate classroom learning with practical experience, greatly improving emergency management awareness and practical application capabilities. Practical learning also effectively promotes students' understanding and mastery of crisis management case analysis, emergency plan design and other aspects, and the overall learning effect is significantly enhanced.

Under the leadership of Teacher Gantian, students regularly conduct field case studies around specific communities and institutions, collect primary data and write research reports. This series of practices aims to cultivate students' problem awareness, investigation and research capabilities, and empirical analysis literacy, while also exercising teamwork and communication skills. Through the advancement of the project, the students produced a number of high-quality research results, which effectively promoted the overall improvement of comprehensive quality and scientific research and innovation capabilities. w88 casino’s student teams have won many awards in the China Postgraduate Public Management Case Competition, the “Xunshi Cup” National College Student Public Management Decision-making Simulation Competition, the “UCAS Cup” College MPA Case Competition and the 7th UCAS Public Management Case Competition.

3. AI empowered teaching produces new results

With the support of the leaders of the w88 casino of Government, the w88 casino of Information, and the China WTO Research Institute, the "WTO Negotiation Simulation System" and "WTO Intelligent Inquiry Platform Based on DeepSeek" jointly developed by undergraduate students led by researcher Liu Bin, deputy dean of the w88 casino of Government, Professor Li Bing of the w88 casino of Information, and Li Chuanchuan of the w88 casino of Economics will be used in the undergraduate teaching of "International Economic and w88 Rules."

The WTO negotiation simulation system focuses on the multilateral negotiation mechanism, builds a "theory-practical training-practical combat" progressive teaching system, and strives to cultivate new negotiation talents who are proficient in international rules and good at using digital tools. Relevant courses use the virtual simulation laboratory as the core carrier, rely on the IETR large model and the global economic and w88 database, and highly restore real scenes such as the WTO Green Room Meeting and Ministerial Meeting. The "dual-track practical training method" is integrated into the teaching: on the one hand, it guides students to dismantle the strategic logic of classic negotiations such as the Doha Round through digital restoration of historical cases; on the other hand, a dynamic deduction system is created where students can act as representatives of different economies to negotiate terms and revise texts.

Under the leadership of teachers, the "Virtual Laboratory of International Economic and w88 Rules" built by students from the w88 casino of Government, the w88 casino of Information, and the China World w88 Organization Research Institute was successfully selected for the World Internet Conference's leading technology award "The Charm of Technology" and won the second prize in the China University Student Computer Design Competition and the first prize in the Beijing University Student Computer Design Competition. Teachers from w88 casino led undergraduates from the w88 casino of Government to collaborate with the international organization World Internet Conference to write the "Cross-border E-commerce Competitiveness Report (Country Dimension)" which was officially released at the Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference.
