The keynote speech session was hosted by Xiong Lili, Executive Director of the Regional and Country Research Institute. Luo Hongbo, president of the Italian Studies Branch of the Chinese European Society and researcher at the Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Sun Yanhong, secretary-general of the Italian Studies Branch of the Chinese European Society and researcher at the Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Wen Zheng, vice president of the Italian Studies Branch of the Chinese European Society and director of the Italian Teaching and Research Office at Beijing Foreign Studies University; and Cui Hongjian, vice president of the Chinese European Society and professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Regional and Global Governance at Beijing Foreign Studies University, spoke successively.

Xiong Lili awarded Luo Hongbo a letter of appointment as a distinguished researcher at the Italian Research Center. Representatives attending the meeting spoke respectively around the two themes of "Italy in the context of the reconstruction of the global order" and "China-Italy relations, exchanges and cooperation in the context of the reconstruction of the global order", and launched a lively and in-depth discussion.
