Before the lecture began, Liu Lixin first expressed a warm welcome to Professor Li Deyuan. Li Deyuan has been deeply involved in the fields of statistics and data science for a long time, and has made outstanding achievements in extreme value statistics, quantile regression, distributed statistics, risk management, causal inference, privacy protection and other directions. He has published more than 40 high-level academic papers in top statistics and economics journals.
In the report, Li Deyuan first introduced the core connotations and limitations of risk measurements such as value at risk and marginal expected loss (MES), and then focused on explaining the team's innovation results: by expanding the definition of system-wide stress events, he proposed "systemic and system risk-driven edge "International Expected Loss" (SYS2MES); under the framework of multivariable extreme value theory, an estimator adapted to tail-related and independent scenarios is constructed and the asymptotic theory is established; through simulation experiments and empirical research based on Dow Jones constituent stocks and US COVID-19 data, it is proven that its risk management effect is significantly better than traditional MES，且在金融、环境科学、社会网络等领域应用前景广阔。 During the interactive session, teachers and students on site enthusiastically asked questions.
