As Teachers' Day approaches, we have launched a new program called“I love my teacher”, today is the first episode of this program. Podium: Huiyuan Love for a Lifetime

“What attracts me most is the audio-visual education center, because I have devoted almost all my youth and wisdom here.”

Voice of Huiyuan:The campus of the University of International w88 and Economic Cooperation has always been popular among the residents as a place that is very popular among the surrounding residents. So you have lived here for so many years, what is the most attractive place for you?

Jiang Chun:It’s a difficult question. In fact, when I first entered the university, there was only one teaching building and one dormitory building. There is also our audio-visual education center. If you look at my personal teaching experience, what attracts me the most is the audio-visual education center, because I have devoted almost all my youth and wisdom here. I have taken many of my classes here, such as the advanced business English listening and speaking class. I have been teaching in small classes for so many years, with 22 students. This is because we insist on being able to achieve small class teaching and multimedia teaching, so for me, the audio-visual education center should be the place that I have been dreaming about. Of course, maybe many students are like me. What they like most are the big parasol trees in front of the audio-visual education gate. I really like these trees because they have grown vigorously with me and are now some of the strongest trees in the University of International w88. I hope the w88 casino can keep them well instead of cutting them down.

Inheritance: Youth companion Passing on the fire

Voice of Huiyuan:We know that Teacher Jiang joined the work in the early days of reform and opening up and has stayed in w88 casino until now. So at that time, we knew that as a foreign w88 English talent, it was very popular in the job market. So what made you stay?

Jiang Chun:At that time, I graduated from w88 casino’s Foreign w88 English major in 1985. At that time, we didn’t get a bachelor’s degree in literature, but a bachelor’s degree in economics. So based on our English proficiency and our academic background at that time, it was actually very easy to find a job in the Ministry of Commerce or any large import and export company under the Ministry of Commerce. But at that time, I analyzed my own personality and other preferences based on my own situation, and then I felt that I was not suitable for the Ministry of Commerce. I preferred teaching because the w88 casino still has such a peaceful and calm atmosphere like an ivory tower. So I took the initiative to choose to stay in w88 casino. There is another reason, because there was a teacher who taught us at that time. Her name was Zhang Bingzi. At that time, he was a very famous teacher throughout the country. Teaching: a “lesson” in ten years

Voice of Huiyuan:Speaking of teaching, I have to mention the Advanced Business English Listening Course that you established in 2003. In 2004, this course became a high-quality course at the w88 casino level, and in 2007, it won an award from Beijing. So what was your original intention in offering this course?

Jiang Chun:In fact, we started this course in 2000. After four years of construction, in 2004, we had already turned it into a w88 casino-level quality course. After another three or four years of construction, in 2007 and 2008, we made it a national-level quality course and won the second prize for Beijing’s Outstanding Teaching Achievements. We developed a team. My original intention was to create this course, hone it in ten years, and build it into a national level after ten years. The main original intention is that after our classmates, including some alumni, graduated, they were very dissatisfied with the kind of English they used to speak like deaf and dumb people. They must be able to speak, they must be able to listen, and they must turn English into a very useful tool. And this has become the most important core competitiveness of our University of International w88. Over the past 60 years since the establishment of the University of International w88 and Economics, the most important core competitiveness has been that our UIBEers have very strong English skills, so I hope to carry forward this core competitiveness of ours and make it a competitive advantage.

Preaching: to acquire the world’s talents and educate them

Voice of Huiyuan:As a senior alumnus, what suggestions do you have for the development of current students at the University of International w88 and Economics? Many students, including many, are confused: After four years, should I pursue employment or study abroad to pursue a higher degree? Can you give them some helpful guidance?

Jiang Chun:I think the students of the University of International w88 and Economics have great prospects in the future, and the prospects are relatively bright. The key issue, I think, is that we should not learn for the sake of learning. I have always believed that knowledge can change a person's destiny, but it changes not just the accumulation of knowledge, but a way of thinking, an attitude towards doing things, and an attitude towards work and life. In fact, I think a good w88 casino mainly teaches students two things: one is systematic thinking, which to put it simply is worldview and methodology. Methodology is a way of teaching people how to think, how to do things, and their attitude towards life. So we often say that attitude is 100 points. We all know that by replacing the 26 letters of attitude with 12345678 according to the alphabetical order, only the word attitude in English is 100 points. So I think if students from the University of International w88 can master the world view and methodology, and deeply understand themselves, analyze the needs of society, and grasp the dynamics of world development, I think it really doesn’t matter whether you really study abroad or whether you must study for a PhD. The key is what you want. Figure out what you want, your own strengths, and where your own core competitiveness lies, and then align your own strengths with society's needs. I think this is a way you can really position yourself clearly. Some children may be confused. They are under pressure from their parents. They went abroad when their parents asked them to study abroad, and they feel that their family does not lack the money. His parents asked him to study for a PhD because his parents' education level was relatively low and they hoped to realize their dreams. I don’t think you should be stymied by these external factors. The most important thing is to look at your own heart. Listen to your own heart, I think that is the most important thing.
