I believe there are many people like me who have been waiting for this great moment for seven years. I would not only cheer for the Olympics, but also participate in serving the Olympics. Because I want to feel the surprise that the Olympics brings to us and to China, and I want to experience this great moment personally.
I came to Beijing as I wished, and joined the ranks of serving the Olympics as I wished. In my small position, I felt the joy and surprise that the Olympic Games brought me. I work in the Central District Super Store, which is a place that provides Olympic licensed products to Olympic staff, athletes, spectators, guests and friends from various countries, etc. I have experienced a lot here and gained a lot.
Before I started working, I was transferred from sales to the office. The office is an office area located at the back of the super store. Although the place is not big, there are many people responsible for different tasks. Our first job is to make labels and help everyone save their bags at work and pick up their bags after get off work. Come before everyone leaves for work and leave after the last person has picked up their bags. Volunteers are working hard on the front lines in the super store, and we also try our best to provide logistical services for everyone. When customer service is busy and there is a shortage of manpower, we go over to help; when the fast lane needs people, we go to the fast lane; because we are also responsible for some publicity work in the central area, we occasionally have to take pictures, write some event reports, and organize materials. Although things are a bit complicated, I can experience the benefits of many jobs.
My favorite thing is to help with sales. This should be considered the first time for real sales. Although I was very excited for the first time, I was a little nervous. Facing customers from all over the world, different countries, different age groups, and different preferences have different priorities in selling products. When the first foreign customer asked me about the product, I was so nervous that I forgot the English word for the product. I was anxious and embarrassed at the time, so I explained it to him using commonly used words. He was very friendly and bought the product after understanding what I meant. I feel a little satisfied, really happy, and at the same time I have a sense of urgency to practice my spoken English more frequently. I really learned a lot of sales experience from learning from the classmates around me. For example, we should focus on recommending products with fashionable elements to young customers, recommend generous and practical products to middle-aged people to match their mature and stable image, and introduce more Olympic products with Chinese characteristics to foreign friends. Faced with a dazzling array of products, it is really not easy to help customers introduce them. When the store receives a peak of customers, every volunteer works hard. In the store, you can fully feel the atmosphere of the Olympics and everyone's enthusiasm for the Olympics.
After interviewing some classmates, we all have the same feeling: although the work is very hard, you can find different fun at work, recommend products to customers, and help others. Although the work is trivial, a satisfied smile from a customer, a positive word from a classmate, and an encouraging look in my eyes all make me feel happy and satisfied.
In this position, I may not be able to make a big contribution to the Olympics, but I believe that the good operation of a machine requires the coordination of every screw. I am willing to be a small screw to play my role.
