[Editor’s note]2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Over the past century, in the face of difficulties and tests, the Communist Party of China has retained its original intention of serving the people, shouldered its historical mission, and explored a path suitable for China's development amidst arduous revolution and struggle. The "Party History Calendar" records the major events in the history of the Party that happened on this day in history. When we get closer to the history of the Party and review history, we realize that today is not easy to come by, and we also know that our generation still has a mission to shoulder.

The Presidium of the Executive Committee of the Communist International adopted the "Resolution on the Report of the Representatives of the Communist Party of China" and the "Decision of the Presidium of the Executive Committee of the Communist International", pointing out:The political line of the Communist Party of China is correct. As a result of the Chinese Communist Party's flexible policy of shifting to the anti-Japanese national united front under complex and difficult conditions, it has established new cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, united the national strength to oppose Japanese aggression, and expressed "complete agreement with the political line of the Chinese Communist Party."

The last plenary session of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China- meeting, Mao Zedong delivered the closing speech. The Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Guangzhou. The First National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held its second meeting. Liu Shaoqi's "Report on Land Reform Issues", clarified the great significance of land reform and the party's principles and policies. The quarterly magazine "New Youth", a theoretical publication of the Communist Party of China, was founded in Guangzhou, with Qu Qiubai as the chief editor. The Chinese lyrics of "The Internationale" translated by Qu Qiubai were published in this publication for the first time.

The People's Daily, the official newspaper of the North China Bureau of the Communist Party of China, which was formed by the merger of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Daily and the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan People's Daily, was first published in Lizhuang, Pingshan County, Hebei Province. Mao Zedong wrote the masthead for the People's Daily.On August 1, 1949, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to convert "People's Daily" into the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and continue to use the issue number of June 15, 1948.

Guangming Daily, a broad ideological and cultural newspaper sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and targeting intellectuals as its main readers, was founded. When Guangming Daily was founded, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and other older generation proletarian revolutionaries wrote inscriptions for Guangming Daily. The main force of the East China Field Army, with the cooperation of the main force of the Central Plains Field Army, conducted the Battle of East Henan (also known as the Battle of Kaifeng and Suiqi). From June 17th to 22nd, Kaifeng, the capital of Henan Province, was first captured. This is the first time the People's Liberation Army has captured a provincial capital city within the Pass. In the Battle of East Henan, more than 90,000 enemy troops were wiped out and the commander of the enemy regiment, Ou Shounian, was captured.
