During the election in the summer of 2018, old and new friends of the club trusted me and elected me as president. At that time, the club faced many problems, and it was difficult to accept the appointment. The most important challenge at that time was the lack of a rehearsal room. The fire that broke out in Daxing District in the spring of that year made the whole of Beijing feel threatened. All basements with fire hazards were required to be rectified, and the basement of Hongyuan Building was naturally included among them. Like the Philharmonic Orchestra (hereinafter referred to as the Philharmonic) and folk music, the Jixie Association also needs a fixed rehearsal location. With the band as the main unit, every rehearsal of Jixie needs to use a large number of musical instruments and electronic equipment, and it is difficult to fix the rehearsal time of different bands. It is not realistic to apply for classrooms based on ordinary student activities. I spent nearly a week searching for possible band rehearsal locations on campus, and finally determined that a room on the second basement floor of the annex building of the Bo Xue Building could be renovated and used as a new rehearsal room (for unknown reasons at the time, the basement of the Bo Xue Building was not included in the scope of renovation). The room itself was in a state of disuse, and at that time there were four clubs in the basement of the Erudite, Taekwondo Club, Karate Club, Graduate Art Troupe and Street Dance Club. The Taekwondo and Karate Clubs share the outer hall, and the two rooms in the inner hall are for the Graduate Art Troupe and the Street Dance Club respectively. The first room in the inner hall is unused, and the garbage of the four clubs is thrown there.
It wasIn June, time was running out. Several other presidents and I discussed and decided to clean up this room as a new rehearsal room before recruiting new students in the fall semester.
