In the end, everyone uses mature survey data or existing public data for analysis, which has extremely limited guidance for the industry."Despite the limitations of different objective conditions, Xie Yuantao has never rested on his laurels, but has constantly sought breakthroughs and produced a considerable number of scientific research results.
Xie Yuantao’s early research was theoretical and purely academic, but he always hoped to do down-to-earth research.“After the introduction of foreign standardized paradigm systems in China, some scientific research papers were too extreme and used common sense issues or content without a deep logical derivation chain as research topics, resulting in a huge gap between theoretical research and industry practice in insurance.” After realizing the gap between theory and practical problems, Xie Yuantao began to get closer to the industry and chaired research projects for Bank of China Insurance Information Technology Management Co., Ltd., the Science and Technology Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Changan Insurance Brokerage Company, China National Chemical Corporation, etc., dedicated to solving practical problems. He also tried to provide suggestions for national development through various research reports and put forward many reports and policy suggestions with policy influence.
In the process of teaching master's and doctoral students, Xie Yuantao repeatedly emphasized the need to serve the development of the industry and support the national strategy. He allows students to give full play to their academic expertise and research characteristics, not only promotes academic innovation in theoretical research, but also encourages strengthening the ability to serve the country's major strategic needs and strive to solve specific problems in the country's development process.“I combine cutting-edge theories in other subject areas to set research topics for students. In the past five years, Xie Yuantao’s research has mainly focused on risk modeling and pension benefits, and has achieved certain results, including risk measurement, the formulation of actuarial rate determination systems, insured population pyramid prediction and fund actuarial balance analysis, policy simulation analysis, and welfare effect analysis. From the perspective of economic and social benefits, traditional risk measurement models ignore risk dependence or underestimate risk distribution, causing asset portfolios to face problems of inconsistency and serious risk underestimation, and may even cause systemic risks. Preventing and resolving major risks is the first of the three major battles of the party and the country; establishing a moderate and sustainable multi-level pension security system, with the goal of filling the gap in pension insurance under the pressure of aging, and serving the national economy and people's livelihood.
Xie Yuantao has made many achievements in the academic field. In addition to publishing nearly a hundred academic papers, he has participated in the writing and publishing of more than a dozen books, among which he has independently translated two works. He usually reads English papers and has developed the habit of recording or translating while reading. He has accumulated more than ten years of experience in related disciplines. China Renmin University Press also published his translation of the cutting-edge economics textbook "Economic Mathematics and Financial Mathematics".
"This book analyzes non-traditional quantitative economics from a non-American (USD payment system) perspective, which is quite different from the economics textbooks from the American perspective that we are familiar with. What requires Xie Yuantao to invest a lot of energy is the review and review of various funds, projects, and papers.
