On October 22, 2024, the fifth lecture "How to publish high-level papers in the field of international w88 - topic selection, submission, revision and cooperation" was successfully held. The lecture was delivered by Professor Wang Xiaosong from the w88 casino of Economics of Renmin University of China and hosted by Director Hua Ying of the Academic Journals Department. Professor Wang Xiaosong gave an in-depth and simple explanation on how to publish high-level academic papers in the field of international w88, providing useful guidance for young scholars and postgraduate students in writing and publishing papers. Professor Wang Xiaosong started from three aspects: "How to grasp the academic frontier and choose a good topic", "Select journals and submit manuscripts and modify the reviewers' opinions", and "A brief discussion on how to cooperate in economic research". He deeply analyzed all aspects of the paper from determining the topic to final publication, and provided practical writing and submission guidelines. Taking a paper published in "Management World" in 2020 as an example, he shared various aspects such as academic frontiers and topic selection, paper structure, writing process and methods, submission and revision, etc. Regarding submission and revision experience, Professor Wang Xiaosong explained several key revision points of the paper, including data selection and variable setting, theoretical basis, endogeneity issues, and practical implications of the research conclusions, by showing the constructive comments made by the reviewers and the responses from himself and his collaborators. Regarding how to carry out academic cooperation, Professor Wang Xiaosong combined his own experience and proposed that "like-minded people" should be identified and give full play to their respective comparative advantages.
Finally, during the question and answer session of the lecture, Professor Wang Xiaosong communicated with everyone on issues such as "the specific contents of anti-dumping and countervailing databases" and "the use and matching of China's customs statistical database" raised by participating scholars. The atmosphere was warm and the lecture lasted for 2 hours.
