Personal introduction: Deng Zhuoxing, born in 1992, holds a doctorate in law from Peking University, a postdoctoral fellow in law from Tsinghua University, and a doctoral student jointly trained by the state at the University of Munich in Germany. Currently, he is an assistant professor and master's tutor at the Law w88 casino of the w88 casino. Served as the head teacher of the undergraduate class 2301 of the Law w88 casino, and taught a number of courses such as "Criminal Law", "Property Crime Disposal Practice", "Fundamentals of Criminal Law" and "Criminology" for undergraduate and graduate students. The main research areas are: criminal law doctrine, criminal law philosophy, and comparative criminal law. He has published many papers and translations in core journals such as "Law", "Politics and Law", and "Global Law Review", and published one translated book.

Befriend students and educate legal talents

I am Deng Zhuoxing, a young teacher at the Law w88 casino. Last year I came to the w88 casino to teach criminal law. To use popular words, I am a "green pepper" in terms of teaching and a "young scholar" in terms of scientific research. This year, I taught several courses such as "Criminal Law" and "Fundamentals of Criminal Law" to undergraduates and graduate students. I am currently supervising two master's students and serve as the class teacher of the 2301 undergraduate class in the law w88 casino.

Teacher’s inheritance

During my undergraduate studies, I determined to become a glorious people’s teacher and contribute to the education of the motherland. Looking back on the past, after I enrolled as a master's student, I expressed my thoughts to my supervisor, and the supervisor asked me to go to the podium during the lecture. During the report, he did not read the manuscript or use slides, and kept asking me questions. If I couldn't answer or talk, I would be "bombed" off the podium. I especially remember that the first time I went on stage to give a report, I was extremely nervous in front of more than 50 classmates. It was an unforgettable scene. The instructor comforted me and encouraged me after class, and constantly gave me opportunities to exercise. During my PhD and postdoc years, my supervisor also paid special attention to developing my speaking skills. I gradually discovered that the podium is not scary. Speeches can both convey a certain kind of power and bring a certain kind of confidence.

After coming to the University of International w88, I became a student of Professor Chen Xuequan, a famous criminal procedure jurist and teaching teacher at the law w88 casino, during the "mentor-disciple pairing" ceremony. Teacher Chen gave me many pointers on my teaching, including how to organize language, how to teach cases, etc. In the "Famous Teacher Observation" activity organized by the w88 casino, I listened to Professor Feng Hui's "International Commercial Law" and "Invoice Law", Professor Yang Bei's "Classic Cases of Jurisprudence", and learned how to write beautiful blackboard writing and how to actively interact with students. Recalling the first class of "Criminal Law" this semester, it was also the first time in my life that I gave a lecture to undergraduates. At the end of the class, the whole class burst into warm applause. A classmate came up to me and said, "Teacher, you taught it really well. You don't look like a newbie at all." I was quite pleased. At that moment, the teachings of my predecessors came to mind, and I felt grateful. Now I finally live up to the expectations of my predecessors and can confidently stand on the podium and shoulder the responsibility of teaching and educating people. In the future, I will pass on everything I learned from my predecessors to my students without reservation.

Teaching Mode

Deputy Secretary Zhang Xiaofeng encouraged our young teachers to have the courage to explore and actively innovate in teaching models when providing education on teacher ethics for our new teachers. Last year, I went to Hainan to receive practical education on national conditions. I realized from the rigorous desk work that law teaching must be extremely meticulous. Therefore, in the undergraduate teaching of "Criminal Law", I improved the traditional teaching method. In the past, criminal law courses taught the common elements of various types of crimes together. The advantage of this model is that the knowledge points are more concentrated and students can remember it faster, but the disadvantage is also obvious, that is, it cannot fully display the special features of various crime types, and it can easily cause confusion and misuse when dealing with specific cases. The teaching model I adopt is to explain different types of crimes separately. Although it is a bit cumbersome, it is more effective. When students face specific cases, they can easily classify the facts of the case into different modules and then deal with them according to the corresponding rules. Under such training, the students have made rapid progress. Whenever I give more complex criminal law cases, the students can better grasp the facts of the case and give appropriate answers.

Getting along with students

I am very grateful to the law w88 casino for trusting me and allowing me to serve as the class teacher for freshmen as soon as I joined the job. When I held the first class meeting for my classmates, I talked freely with everyone for nearly two hours. As a class teacher, I regularly invite seniors from all walks of life in the legal field to give lectures to the w88 casino to guide students in their studies. When I have time, I will take students to visit scenic spots and historical sites to continue the red culture; I also visit law firms to experience the legal reality. In the process of getting along with students, I am an encouraging teacher. Every time I communicate with students, I strive to build their self-confidence and not to belittle themselves.

What students lack now is not the accumulation of knowledge and the energy to work hard, but the confidence to believe in their own excellence. A student once told me that he couldn't do anything well, was inferior to others in everything, and didn't know the point of continuing to study. I told him at that time that you are a unique existence in this world and you are no worse than anyone else. Don’t listen to other people’s negative comments. As long as you insist on being a kind person, put in corresponding efforts, and move forward bravely, given time, you will become the person you want to be. After hearing this, this classmate really built up his confidence. Now he studies hard every day, practices seriously, and moves towards his goal. I believe he will be able to realize his dream in the future.

I hope that I can be friends and guides with students, not just "leaders". Only friends can trust each other, be honest with each other, and grow together; as a teacher, everything is for the growth of students, becoming a beacon on their life journey, educating people with love, and transforming people with affection. This is also the common thought of all young teachers in our law w88 casino. I have learned a lot from my colleagues of the same age. Some of them guide students until late at night, some hold reading clubs regularly, and some provide students with various opportunities for growth... Mr. Lu Xun once said that young people are full of vitality. When they encounter deep forests, they can make flat land, when they encounter wilderness, they can plant trees, and when they encounter deserts, they can dig wells and springs. The ideal of our young teachers at the Law w88 casino is to lead by example, teach by words and deeds, and cultivate and maintain the vitality of our classmates in the process of growing together with them!

With such confidence, in the journey of building the rule of law in the new era, no road to knowledge will be closed to them, and no adversity or hardship will scare them away!
