The fourth meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, through the joint efforts of all members, successfully completed all agendas.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China attaches great importance to this conference. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and other leading comrades of the party and the country attended the opening and closing meetings of the conference, visited the members, participated in joint group discussions, and discussed state affairs with the members.
During the meeting, all members carefully discussed the government work report, the draft outline of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and other reports, carefully reviewed the CPPCC Standing Committee work report and proposal work report and other documents, and achieved fruitful results. All members fully understand the extremely unusual and extraordinary development process and the hard-won and extremely precious development achievements in the past year and the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and are determined to make greater contributions to promoting Chinese-style modernization in the new era and new journey, and to continue to write a new chapter in the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability. This was a conference that held high the banner, concentrated efforts, was pragmatic and forge ahead, and was upright. It vividly demonstrated the responsibility of the majority of members to perform their duties for the country and the people, and fully demonstrated the unique advantages and vitality of socialist deliberative democracy.
2026 is the first year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”. The Communist Party of China is leading hundreds of millions of people to march with confidence on the new journey of Chinese-style modernization. Based on its own nature and responsibilities and missions, the CPPCC must identify the entry points, joint points, and focus points that serve the overall development of the "15th Five-Year Plan", give full play to the role of specialized consultation bodies, unite and lead all parties, groups and people of all ethnic groups and all walks of life participating in the CPPCC, and widely gather people's hearts, consensus, wisdom, and strength for a good start and a good start for the "15th Five-Year Plan".
——We must give better play to the political organizational role of the People's Political Consultative Conference. It is necessary to uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, strengthen theoretical arming, improve the level of ideological understanding through constant learning, thinking and understanding, and enhance political ability and ability to perform duties through deepening internalization and transformation. We must have a deep understanding of the distinct political nature of the CPPCC system and the CPPCC organization, insist on performing functions and carrying out work within the scope of the CPPCC charter, and ensure that the cause of the CPPCC always moves in the correct political direction.
——We must give better play to the role of the People's Political Consultative Conference in advising and advising on government affairs. Wherever the central tasks of the party and the country are advanced, the CPPCC must gather its wisdom and strength. Serving and assisting the implementation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" should be regarded as the main line of duty performance and run through all work of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in government affairs. Focus on major issues in economic and social development, deepen forward-looking research and strategic thinking, put forward valuable and weighty opinions and suggestions, and strive to observe changes in the situation, identify the root of the problem, and find effective strategies. We must adhere to the fact that the CPPCC is for the people, make more contributions to the people, do more things to benefit the people, and promote the achievements of modernization to benefit all people.
——We must better leverage the cohesive role of the People’s Political Consultative Conference. It is necessary to improve the working mechanism for the united front to unite people's hearts and gather strength politically, integrate ideological and political guidance into daily life, and give the CPPCC's various duties the significance of increasing consensus, promoting unity, and cohesion. It is necessary to carry out activities such as theoretical propaganda of the CPPCC, news publicity, external exchanges, members' contact with people from various sectors, and members' performance of duties to "serve the people". We should be good at using the major achievements of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the beautiful vision of the "15th Five-Year Plan" to inspire, inspire, and inspire people. We should assist the party and the government in publicizing policies, dispelling doubts, clarifying emotions, and resolving conflicts, and widely gather the strong positive energy of Chinese people at home and abroad to forge ahead on a new journey and contribute to a new era.
