The plan was initiated by the Study Abroad Service Center of the Ministry of Education, relying on the "World Study Tour Alliance" initiative, focusing on two-way study tours and credit-based course cooperation between Chinese and British youths, marking a new stage of systematic, institutionalized and two-way interaction in higher education exchanges and cooperation between China and the UK.
Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education Chen Dali, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Study Abroad Service Center of the Ministry of Education Wang Daquan, Professor Lisa Roberts, President of the University of Exeter, UK, Joe Johnson, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the British Achieve International Education Group (AIEG) and former Minister of State for University Affairs, Tang Zhili, Minister of Culture and Education of the British Embassy in China, and other representatives from the education circles of China and the UK attended the event. During the ceremony, the results of the 2026 "China-UK Study Tour Navigation Program (Study in China)" route course were released on site, displaying 13 study tour course modules jointly created by 10 Chinese universities. Later, Zhao Zhongxiu and representatives from other Chinese and British universities and institutions took the stage and pressed the start button, marking the official launch of the "China-British Study Tour Navigation Program (Study in China)".
At the launch ceremony, the Ministry of Education’s Overseas Study Service Center signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Exeter in the UK. After the event, the guests had free exchanges on curriculum implementation, student selection and cooperation mechanisms.
