The forum attracted more than 80 guests from Australia and China.
Bian Changzheng, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, and Mr. Yang Zhining, Market Director of China and New Zealand of Invest Victoria, attended the event and delivered speeches. Mr. Pan Yuansheng, President of the Melbourne Branch of the China General Chamber of Commerce in Australia and General Manager of China Southern Airlines Melbourne, also attended the event. A total of six guest speakers were invited to this forum, namely: Dr. Xiujian Peng, senior researcher at the Policy Research Center of the University of Victoria, Assoc Andy Song, director of the Artificial Intelligence Research and Reform Center at RMIT University, Mr. Mike Yang, executive director of MODUN, Mr. Grant Wallace, general manager of the Victoria Basketball Association, Mr. Bill Lang, chairman of the International Sports Rehabilitation Research Center, and Mr. Yang Hairong, president of the Australian Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and director of South Pacific Sports.
Prof Colin Clark, Australian Director of the Confucius Institute, delivered a welcome speech to welcome the guests on behalf of the University of Victoria and the Confucius Institute, and briefly introduced the Chinese courses, cultural activities, business forums and other projects of the Confucius Institute. In his speech, Commercial Counselor Bian Changzheng emphasized the importance of the sustainable development of friendly cooperation between China and Australia. Mr. Zhining Yang, Market Director of China and New Zealand at the Victoria State Investment Authority, shared Victoria’s investment data and opportunities in his speech, and encouraged Australian and Chinese business people to come to Victoria for investment and development.

The forum is hosted by Professor Colin. Six keynote speakers conducted in-depth discussions on the three themes of Australia-China business environment, the impact of the artificial intelligence industry on contemporary business changes, and sports business. Dr. Xiujian Peng, a senior researcher at the Policy Research Center of the University of Victoria, shared her research results based on economic models on the topic of "Australia-China Economic Growth", analyzed in detail the similarities and differences in the economic growth of the two countries in the past ten years, and pointed out future cooperation opportunities. In his keynote speech, Assoc Andy Song, director of the Artificial Intelligence Research and Reform Center at RMIT University, introduced the development status of the artificial intelligence industry and discussed the impact of AI technology on the economy and potential business opportunities.

In the sports business panel discussion, Mr. Mike Yang, executive director of MODUN, moderated the discussion, and the other three guests shared their experiences and insights. Mr. Grant Wallace, general manager of the Victoria Basketball Association, shared the experience of leading the Victoria basketball team to compete in China and related business opportunities; Mr. Bill Lang, chairman of the International Sports Rehabilitation Research Center, looked forward to the prospects of the sports rehabilitation industry in the market based on his more than 20 years of Australia-China business experience; Mr. Yang Hairong, president of the Australian Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and director of South Pacific Sports Company, discussed the potential development direction of sports business from the perspective of events, sports stars and brand promotion.

The forum not only attracted representatives from the Chinese business community such as the Australian Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce, the Yunden Chamber of Commerce, the Australian Wuxi Chamber of Commerce, and the Australia-China General Chamber of Commerce Melbourne Branch, but also attracted business people such as local real estate companies and law firms in Melbourne, as well as Chinese entrepreneurs who have recently gone to Australia to discuss investment cooperation.
