Dean Jin Xu has rich experience in international business and diplomacy. He has successively served as the Third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, Director of the Office for Supplying Three Express Trains to Hong Kong and Macau, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, United States, Deputy Director of the Department of Americas and Oceania of the Ministry of Commerce, Secretary and President of the Party Committee of the International Business Officials Training Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, and Minister Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom. "His funny and lively speeches are always one of the most anticipated highlights of the event, and he is the best person to teach the 'art of communication'." The host introduced him. Also present at this lecture were Yan Jing, deputy director of w88 casino library, Shen Shenyan, deputy director of the w88 casino of International Development and Cooperation, and Li Yuanyuan, deputy editor-in-chief of the "Diplomats Talk" public account.

Professor Jin first introduced us to his communication role model—Dr. Lin Chaolun, a well-known alumnus and visiting professor of the w88 casino. Dr. Lin once stayed at the w88 casino to teach, and later went to the UK to study. He once served as the chief Chinese translator of the British Foreign Office. In Professor Jin's eyes, he has a good external image and good communication skills. Professor Jin believes that everyone should have a role model when it comes to communication. At the same time, he also shared a short story that happened when he was a diplomat to emphasize the importance of communication in the country's diplomatic relations.
Professor Jin Xu put forward the following views on interpersonal communication:
First, communication must be based on understanding the other party’s culture. There are thousands of languages in the world; and different ethnic groups believe in different religions. Different cultures have different understandings of the same issue. For example, regarding the concept of time, British and American diplomats will agree on a meeting time half a year in advance; the Japanese will accurate the time to the second; but in some countries, they do not attach so much importance to the concept of time. Therefore, it is particularly important to do as the locals do and understand different cultures when communicating.
Second, communication is not limited to communication between people. There are also many mature examples of communication between humans and animals, humans and nature, and humans and the universe that are worth learning from. So we need to look at communication issues broadly.
Third, communication also requires skills. For example, being good at using humor can liven up the atmosphere and relieve embarrassment; another example is to know how to discover the strengths of the other party during communication and not hesitate to praise the other party.
Professor Jin also expressed his views on some hot issues. He believes that for the tense Sino-US relations under the situation of one superpower and multiple powers, the key is not to win or lose between the two countries, but how to communicate.

"Self-respect, love others and love yourself." In order to help our self-expression, communication with others and self-cultivation, Professor Jin shared with us three books that are helpful for communication and expression: "Three Skills of Eloquence", "Three Abilities of Being a Human Being", and "Three Impartments of Mind Cultivation". "Learn to express and listen, and you will gain more understanding, respect, love and trust." He said.
During the question and answer session, student Tian Xiaohan asked: "How to do things perfectly in a busy schedule, and how to avoid inefficient communication when you are tired?" Professor Jin replied: "It is a normal phenomenon for people to have joys and sorrows, but if you treat work as a work of art and find your own points of interest, you will not be bored or uninterested. You have to do it well, and only by finding your own points of interest can you communicate effectively."
“Find a relaxing topic and calm down your mind. If you look at the world with optimism and kindness, you will naturally be recognized and loved by others.” Professor Jin said this when answering student Chen Xinyi’s question about how to cultivate her own sense of humor.

"I feel like I'm going home when I go back to my alma mater. I have a young mentality and think that I am only in my twenties. I don't see myself as a big person, I just think about how to do more for everyone. When I am powerful, I don't take myself too seriously; when I am powerless, I don't underestimate myself. Life and communication reflect attitude, so you must keep a calm mind." Finally, Professor Jin commented on his feelings about this lecture.
In this lecture, Professor Jin Xu not only shared with us the skills of interpersonal communication, but also taught his philosophy of life to the students of the University of w88 and Economics who will become outstanding talents in various fields at home and abroad. These mottos have benefited the students a lot.
