A total of 66 universities across the country participated in the competition, of which 30 teams won the pleadings round and advanced to the court defense competition (i.e., the "Top 30 Round Robin"). [Introduction to competition questions]
The "International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition (English)" is organized by the "Grotius Center for International Law Research" at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The International Criminal Court (ICC) provides support, and China University of Political Science and Law hosts its Chinese selection competition. The topic of this competition revolves around the dispute between the agricultural country Giskar and its neighbor Regale. In order to crack down on the agricultural economy of the Golden Lowlands, a semi-autonomous region of Giskar, and force the region to be annexed to Regale, the defendant in this case, Corlis Valeron, planned and executed the "Pest Attack Operation" by releasing gene-edited pests into the Golden Lowlands, destroying 65% of the local food, causing 20,000 people to die from famine and 5,000 farmers to commit suicide. The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court brought charges against defendant Corlis Valeron for this purpose. The competition questions include the substantive issue of whether the insecticide operation constitutes a crime against humanity, as well as procedural issues such as the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and the sufficiency of evidence. It also involves international public law issues such as the legality of the referendum and the division of powers within the United Nations.

After three fierce debates, the USIOM team successfully entered the semi-finals the next day with their written performance and the outstanding performance of the main debaters.
atIn the semi-finals on the morning of March 19, the University of w88 and Economics team, led by the main debater Fan Zhijun, faced off against the teams of Peking University w88 casino of International Law (third runner-up this year) and Shenzhen University (the debater was the best defense spokesperson this year). Faced with the pressure brought by the competition system where success or failure is determined by one round, the debaters on our team still tried their best to perform at their best. But in the end, due to a slight lack of exploration of the arguments and deficiencies in court argument skills, the BIUM team unfortunately failed to advance to the international competition and only won the first prize in the country.
