In the next third game, the USIM team faced a strong opponent——Yale University team of the United States (the current champion of the Northeastern Division of the United States and the top 16 in the world). The opponent's research was very in-depth and the amount of information was considerable, while the debaters on the stage were vigorous and their output was comprehensive and smooth. Our debaters Zhang Qi'an and Liang Shiying were strong when faced with strong arguments. They were calm and composed, and responded in an orderly manner according to the established rhythm. Although they lost to their opponents in the end, they achieved a wonderful international match, further honed their competitive abilities and grew rapidly.

In the last game of the round robin, the University of w88 and Economic Cooperation team played against the Free University of Tbilisi, Georgia. The other party's output was clear and smooth, but it lacked responses to the key substantive questions raised by the judges. Our debaters Zhang Wentao and Liang Shiying played steadily as always, calmly responded to the judges' continuous questions, answered promptly and accurately, and once again secured the victory with full marks.

As early asBefore the “Jessup Competition” was officially introduced into the Chinese academic community in 2003, University of w88 and Economics alumni Wang Xuehua and Liu Tiehu had already represented Chinese students overseas in 1987.
