In response to the obesity issue that female college students are most concerned about, Professor Liao suggested that students should distinguish between simple obesity and secondary obesity, and then find effective ways to control weight.肥胖的类型包括苹果型肥胖和鸭梨型肥胖,其中,苹果型肥胖人群对人体健康的危害性较大。
When talking about the physiological functions of the six major nutrients, she said that the six major nutrients are of great significance in supplying heat energy to the body, forming body tissues and regulating the body's physiological functions. Therefore, a balanced diet requires the intake of nutrients in a complete range, in sufficient quantity, and in appropriate and reasonable proportions to meet the body's needs for various nutrients.

Liao Yan imparts nutrition knowledge
Grains are the basic guarantee for a balanced diet, and adults should consume them every day250g~400gStaple food. So, is it a correct eating habit to only drink milk and eat eggs in the morning instead of staple food?Professor Liao said that the human body is in a hypoglycemic state in the morning. If you only drink milk, it will lead to excessive protein intake, which will increase the burden on the kidneys. At the same time, she emphasized that consuming vegetables and fruits in the morning can greatly promote physical health, but drinking fruit juice will be counterproductive. Juice will cause the dietary fiber of the fruit to be lost and retain too much sugar, affecting its original effectiveness.
Dietary fiber is essential for maintaining human health, but the knowledge contained in it still needs to be studied in depth. According to Liao Yan, dietary fiber includes insoluble fiber and soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber, such as wheat, rye, rice and vegetables, can promote gastrointestinal motility and improve intestinal function. Soluble fiber can delay gastric emptying time, slow down glucose absorption, and lower blood cholesterol. Citrus, oat products and legumes may be given priority.
In addition, Liao Yan also recommended that college students eat milk, soybeans or their products every day. Taking calcium tablets after meals can help calcium absorption, while too much dietary fiber, a large amount of strong tea, coffee or carbonated drinks can inhibit calcium absorption. Accumulate more calcium in the body and reduce the harmful effects of excessive calcium loss in old age.
Liao Yan advocates that from now on, college students should control bad habits, increase exercise, develop good eating habits, and improve their physical health.

After the event, students asked Liao Yan about health issues
