w88 casino News Network (Reporter Xi Mingxia)09Year10month14日夜7Points, Shi Dan’s special session at the Economic and w88 Forum in Boxue Building301Held on "Thinking Like an Economist". The lecture was very exciting and benefited the audience a lot.

Shi Dan holds a PhD in economics from Peking University and is currently a professor at the w88 casino of International Economics and w88 of w88 casino. Professor Shi Dan has taught many economic works and has won honorary titles such as "Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher". Now, Professor Shi Dan’s main research directions are Western economics, development economics, etc. He has participated in editing and translating many works and is an authoritative and outstanding teacher in w88 casino.

This type of lecture is sponsored by the International w88 Society of w88 casino. The lecture not only focuses on the research topics of teachers, but also can arm students' economic minds and cultivate rational thinking. This lecture is mainly for Professor Shi Dan to introduce to students the potential common sense of economics in daily life, thereby teaching how to cultivate and establish an economic way of thinking in every aspect of life, how to open up ideas, broaden horizons, think about problems with economists' thinking, and discover ways to solve problems.

Shi DanThe atmosphere of the professor's lectures was very relaxed. When explaining his views, he gave many examples around him, making the originally obscure principles easy to understand.

Professor Shi Dan teaches carefully

In this lecture, Professor Shi Dan focused on three aspects: the emergence and foundation of economic thinking methods and how economists think. When explaining the "Generation of Economic Thinking Ways" part, Professor Shi Dan put forward the view that "people must make choices because they have infinite desires and scarce resources" and believed that the optimal state for human beings to choose goals is when efficiency reaches the highest level. When elaborating on the content of "the basis of economic thinking", Professor Shi Dan also put forward the view that "limited resources have multiple uses" and "all economic subjects are rational people", and explained that "rational people" are "self-interested people", and also emphasized that "self-interest" does not mean "self-interest at the expense of others".

Then the argument of "economic subjects make choices based on incentives" was developed, and the relationship between incentives, w88-offs and choices was elaborated: By comparing the rewards and punishments of actions, one aspect of motivating people can be derived, thereby creating a mechanism; by comparing the benefits and costs of various actions, people will make choices among feasible actions. The conclusion that follows these three steps is that “changes in analytical incentives can predict changes in choices.” Here, Professor Shi Dan cited many examples, such as China's family planning problem. If administrative orders are changed into economic policies, then following the guidance of "incentives", it will be easier to solve China's population problem. When explaining the question of "how economists think", Professor Shi Dan put forward two very important concepts and methods: equilibrium analysis and marginal analysis. Among them, the latter is particularly important: by comparing marginal benefits and marginal costs, people can decide their own choices more clearly and become more "self-interested."

In just two hours, Professor Shi Dan explained how to maximize happiness by connecting economic principles to real life. Having choices means gain and loss. Acting in accordance with economic principles can maximize the interests of the whole society. This made the audience deeply convinced by her opening point of view that "economics is the most helpful science to life."

Students listen carefully

After the lecture, three students raised their own questions. Among them, Sun Yilun from the ninth class of economics and w88 asked about "marginal benefits and costs" based on the allusion of "Kong Rong gave up the pear"; Yuan Hong from the seventh economics and w88 class asked the question "whether the Chinese system will restrict the maximization of the subject's interests". Professor Shi Dan patiently answered: maximizing the subject's interests is just to be the best and most efficient within one's own feasible scope, rather than comparing and surpassing others. After the answer, the enthusiastic and attentive students presented beautiful flowers to the teacher to thank Professor Shi Dan for his wonderful lecture.

Students send flowers to Professor Shi Dan

Professor Shi Dan believes that life is not equal to work, so we cannot narrowly list only majors that are beneficial to employment as "compulsory subjects". EconomyLearning is known as "the brightest pearl in the crown of social sciences". She believes that students should study carefully and use it for themselves, and make their lives more intelligent and of higher quality by studying economics.
