Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus, it has always affected the hearts of Chinese teachers at the Confucius Institute at the University of Malawi. This Confucius Institute, co-organized by the w88 casino and the University of Malawi, has lost the laughter of the past, and the teachers’ classes have become a bit duller. Reports one after another about the shortage of masks and supplies in Wuhan are all worrying.

“How can I say that I have no clothes, but I have the same robe as my son.” You Yonghong, the Chinese dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Malawi, was very anxious. He mobilized the teachers to take active action, find ways to buy masks, and donate them to China to support the fight against the epidemic. However, Malawi is one of the least developed countries in the world. There are no production factories for masks and other medical supplies in the entire country. The teachers asked pharmacies one after another and found that most of the masks and medical supplies previously imported from China and India had been bought by overseas Chinese. It was not easy to find 900 N95 masks, but the teachers couldn't come up with cash at once, and someone got them first.

“I learned about a batch of supplies, which are N95 masks!”

"You have to settle it quickly, it will be gone soon!"

Finally a teacher brought good news. Five boxes, ten boxes, one box, two boxes... The total number of donations was tallied in a moment. Fifteen Chinese teachers donated a total of ten boxes of 4,200 N95 masks! At that time, the market price of each mask had risen to about 8.5 yuan, more than 35,000 yuan, and the per capita donation was more than 2,400 yuan. Teachers and volunteers were generally very young, and none of them had much savings, but it was still a "huge sum" of money. Everyone was shocked.

When you have a mask, you have to think about donating it to the places that need it most. Malawi's medical team to aid Africa was dispatched by Shaanxi Province. The teachers urgently contacted the captain of the previous medical team and learned that the medical team from Shaanxi Province to support Wuhan during the epidemic was at Wuhan Ninth Hospital, and masks and other supplies were in short supply at the front. Thousands of miles away from Malawi, Africa, I mailed ten boxes of masks to Wuhan No. 9 Hospital. When I started to actually operate it, I found that there were too many links that needed to be cleared up. We had to contact charities, logistics companies, domestic customs clearance companies, and express companies. We also needed a sum of 5,000 to 6,000 yuan to mail the masks...

Difficulties cannot stop us! The teachers contacted charitable organizations in Hubei one by one, and finally the Hubei Charity Federation was willing to accept this batch of supplies and could arrange for them to be mailed to Wuhan Ninth Hospital. The staff of the Hubei Provincial Charity Federation were very moved when they heard that we wanted to donate masks from Malawi, one of the least developed countries in the world. A WeChat group was specially set up to connect with teachers: it turns out that donating money also requires preparing some necessary documents and procedures. Everyone worked separately again to solve the problems one by one, including mask product certification documents, hospital acceptance letters, and donation information forms required by the Charity Federation. Soon, ten boxes of masks were delivered to the airport and neatly placed in the logistics company's warehouse.

But logistics expenses are also a big expense. The teachers once again donated generously, but it was still not enough to cover the entire cost. The Hubei Provincial Charity Federation understands our difficulties and is willing to bear the SF express fee for the supplies from Guangzhou Airport to Wuhan Ninth Hospital. In just forty-eight hours, every step from initiating donations, purchasing masks to completing all donation procedures was completed, and everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

On February 9, ten boxes of N95 masks with the slogan "Mountains and seas are thousands of miles away, home and country are safe" flew from Malawi, one of the least developed countries in the world, known as the "warm heart of Africa", to Wuhan, the motherland thousands of miles away! On February 16, Wuhan Ninth Hospital sent teachers proof of receipt of donations. The doctor in charge of the docking said that when frontline doctors learned that these masks came from Malawi, one of the least developed countries in the world, many people were moved to tears.

Mountains and seas are thousands of miles away, and foreign parties are showing support

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, foreign colleagues have inquired more and students have become more concerned. Chinese students at different teaching sites and ages recorded videos saying, "Come on, China! Come on, Wuhan!"

Dr. Movni, the foreign director of the Confucius Institute, told the teachers in the work group at the beginning of the outbreak: "In the face of the epidemic, we are always together! Because we live in the same global village!"

Dr. Mofni also recorded a video to support China. He said: "When the Ebola epidemic broke out, Africa suffered the same ordeal. We are very grateful to the Chinese government for sending a medical team. We will not forget those who risked their lives to come to Africa to help us build The Chinese people who set up medical clinics! Because the people of China and Africa worked together to fight these epidemics, we finally won! At this time, I have more reason to believe that the Chinese people can also explore effective methods from these valuable combat experiences and win the battle against the new coronavirus again!”

Zi Yi, a local Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute, used an ancient poem to express to her Chinese colleagues: "How can I say that I have no clothes and share the same robe as my son? Come on, China! Come on Wuhan!" All the students of China-Malaysia Friendship Primary w88 casino shouted in unison: "Come on China! Come on Wuhan!" During the activity, the Chinese teachers of the Confucius Institute and the students of Mkwezi Middle w88 casino sang "Let the World Be Full of Love" to support China. In addition, Chinese students from Malawi Immigration Bureau, International Airport, w88 casino of Management, Lilongwe College, Harry International w88 casino, Shepherd International w88 casino, Chancellor College and other teaching sites also sent touching videos cheering for China.

Come on China! Come on Wuhan! Chinese language teachers overseas firmly believe that the motherland will soon defeat this sudden "epidemic", and that soon everyone will live and work in peace and contentment, and live in peace and harmony! Across mountains and seas, I wish my family and country peace!
