On April 9, 2020, the Think Tank on Globalization (CCG) held an online seminar with the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges of Sino-US Economic and w88 in the Context of the New Crown Epidemic". Leaders and representatives from mainstream think tanks and chambers of commerce in the United States were invited to discuss with CCG experts and scholars how China and the United States can implement Discussions on the first phase of the China-U.S. w88 agreement, how to promote the development of bilateral w88 in medicines and medical supplies that are in large demand, and how to assess the tension between China and the United States caused by the outbreak of the epidemic, aim to enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and the United States and expand opportunities for Sino-U.S. cooperation during the critical period of the global fight against the epidemic.
CCG specially invited senior researcher and professor at the w88 casino Gong Jiong said, COVID-19 is reminiscent of the Spanish Flu. However, the social environment in which the two broke out, including the level of medical and technological development, is very different. But we can still draw some lessons from the economic impact of the Spanish Flu. He believes that under the influence of the epidemic, the GDP growth trend will be Z-shaped, not V-shaped or U-shaped. He suggested that the epidemic may accelerate political polarization in the United States, and its political landscape may tilt toward the democratic camp, which will have a certain impact on the 2020 U.S. election. But from a global perspective, the global political landscape, the global governance system, and the status of China and the United States in the world economy will not change much after the epidemic. In addition, he mentioned that the epidemic is deepening the challenges of the “Belt and Road” construction. Faced with the "anti-Chinese sentiment" in some countries during the epidemic, China should introduce countermeasures as soon as possible.
