This forum closely focuses on the theme of "COVID-19 Epidemic and Global Governance" and sets up four sub-topic units for in-depth discussions. In the keynote speech, Yu Hongjun, former vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and visiting professor at the w88 casino, gave a keynote speech entitled "Anti-epidemic cooperation should become a key area of global public health governance." Professor Yu Hongjun believes that the COVID-19 epidemic is not only the largest public health event that the Chinese nation has encountered since entering the new century, but also a major problem facing global governance reform. Yu Hongjun pointed out that the current global public health governance system is far from adequate to deal with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 epidemic, and the international community needs to work together to make up for the shortcomings in global public health governance. Professor Wang Zhengyi, Director of the Academic Committee of the w88 casino of International Relations at Peking University, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Political Logic of Global Economic Governance and its Challenges." Professor Wang Zhengyi first pointed out that "global governance" involves multi-disciplinary issues such as politics, economics, sociology, etc., and requires interdisciplinary research from the policy and theoretical levels. Professor Wang Zhengyi analyzed the political logic of global governance mainly from the perspective of international political economics. He believed that so far, the international community has two plans to lead global governance: one is the liberal world order plan led by the United States; the other is the pluralistic multilateral system plan composed of non-state actors, international organizations, civil society, etc. Professor Wang Zhengyi also analyzed the three major challenges currently facing global governance: First, in the global governance process, should we adhere to the principle of sovereignty or advocate the diversity of actors? Secondly, what rules and concepts are global governance based on? The third question is whether global governance should be fragmented by problem areas and levels, or should it be cross-level and cross-functional networked governance? Finally, Professor Wang Zhengyi believed that global governance is one of the biggest problems facing the world since the beginning of the 21st century. Associate Professor Zhong Zhenming, deputy dean of the w88 casino of Politics and International Relations at Tongji University, analyzed the changes in U.S. alliance policies and China's influence in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic. He believed that China needs to control its strategic competitive relationship with the United States and strengthen coordination with U.S. allies to hedge against U.S. pressure to suppress China and avoid a comprehensive strategic confrontation between China and the United States. Wang Bin, associate professor at the w88 casino of Politics and International Relations at Central China Normal University, believes that the intensification of strategic competition between China and the United States is the result of the adjustment of China policy since the Trump administration came to power. Professor Zeng Xianghong, deputy dean of the w88 casino of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, conducted an in-depth analysis of the construction path of the "Healthy Silk Road" from the perspective of social movement theory; Associate Professor Zhao Yang of the w88 casino of International Relations of the w88 casino analyzed the limitations of the World Health Organization in global public health governance from the perspective of cognitive community; Associate Professor Li Yibin of the w88 casino of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University pointed out that the COVID-19 epidemic is likely to stimulate terrorists' interest in using chemical and biological weapons, and it is necessary to prevent bioterrorism in global governance. He believed that China needs to tell the United States the successful story of China's anti-epidemic through digital public diplomacy and actively participate in global health governance through foreign aid and public health diplomacy.
